And in a few months you can ask TL owners why they didn't get the RL.

I don't have TSX or TL, so my view shouldn't be that biased. I personally think TSX is the orginial design, while TL is a copy of it. Compare to TSX's super fine details and designs, TL's seem like rough scatch. TSX and G35 sedan and 3-series are the three superstars in the near-luxury sports sedan class, while TL is just another player.

Don't say that too loud near a TL owner.

I like them both...different cars for different people though. If everyone agreed on what car to drive, it would be a very boring world!

Actually, the TL was put on paper first. The TSX was designed after the original TL sketches were done.

And you know this how? Lets not forget that the TSX was designed for a larger market than the TL was. Asia and Europe get the "TSX" so I'd think more importance was put on the design of the car so that it could be succesfully marketed in several countries.

I heard this from someone that works for Honda NA. The original sketches for the TL were done for some time and then laid aside. The TSX/Euro Accord was then designed with similar lines. Then the TL was put into production after that. I can't verify this, obviously, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

RL is two levels above compared to the TL, while the TL is barely a level over the TSX.

not really, i just tell them i got the TSX before the TL came out. also tell them i like the TSX better side because of mirror blinkers, more gas efficient, less of them on the road, etc.

Yup, it was like this:

person x: "So how much was that car?"
fdl: "It was $x"
person x: "You could have gotten a V6 accord for that much!"

Before I actually bought my TSX a coworker of mine (fancies himself a motorhead I guess) said, "Dude, just get a V6 Accord...my wife has one; It looks the same, has a bigger engine, and costs less". Since I bought my TSX, he hasn't said a word, but I've caught him starring at it...

Why would someone even mention buying an Accord over a TSX? The only thing that the Accord has that i really want on my TSX is the XM radio feature.

Why, because of SHAWD and standard NAV? The RL is smaller than before or about the same size as the TL. Most of the features are the same on both cars. Performance will be about the same especially if you count the 6MT TL. Sure the wood and leather might be nicer on the RL but I'm not sure about two levels above the TL.

LOL my father has a TL. You know what he said when I got my TSX ?
"I should have gotten a TSX instead of my TL" no joke ! He says he loves his car but with no more kids at home he doesn't need the room and the TSX is just easier to handle.

As there was no 04 TL when I got my TSX, it was an easy choice for me.

Before everyone responds:

It was a rhetorical joke!

I have had the "Accord" comment made several times, as well as, "why didn't you get an Altima..."

Best answer: "Because I'm not ghey". Ends the conversation pretty quickly....

I may have gotten an Altima over a TSX today if given the choice. The Altima's new Interior makes the car that much better.

Hey would you recommend getting a S4 2001 for the same price? My friend spotted a 2001 Black S4 with about 16000 miles for about the same price as a 6MT TSX. I am looking at the TL as well.

S4 woudl be sweet. But be sure to factor in $$ for repairs. So really, they are not the same price.

typical conversation with sleeper:
some jackass: "you should've got the TL."
sleeper: "you should've shut the fuck up"

similarly, a typical conversation with domn:
some jackass: "you should've got the TL."
domn: "shut the fuck up, noob."

01 s4 with 16k miles for 25k is a great deal. i would have taken that offer. but sell it after 50k.

Only thing that kept me from going the S4 way was the high mileage I'm doing, and its potentially early poor reliabilty.

Otherwise, the fun factor is a definite consideration for this car IMO.
