Do your Temp gauges stay a bit under the middle ???

Even if my car is fully warmed up, my temp gauge needle is always under the middle part of the whole gauge.... is it meant to be like that?

Drive to Vegas in the summer and it'll be a bit above the middle at times, but otherwise, it will usually stay about where you see it.

yea it's normal. I think it's actually in the middle, just the positioning of it makes it look like it's not.

like that with all cars that i have driven, honda's especially. if anything really goes wrong (like overheating), i'm sure that 3 or 4 warning lights other than that gauge will start to signal something is wrong.

why is it that the needle takes so long to get to that almost-middle place? about 4-5 minutes?

That is the time it takes for the coolant to reach the corresponding temperature.

The temp gauge is completely useless anyways. It should either be replaced with a real thermometer or an idiot light saying "too hot".

Well it is a good indicator of when you can safely do so.
