From my understanding the navi is dvd based. I think what you do is buy a new version of the dvd that includes new roads and such.

I think every fall a new DVD disk comes out. You can try the dealership or register with the Acura Owner’s Link (link listed below) to get a disk. The current 2005/2006 version number for:

- 04/05 TSX is the orange disk ver 3.50 for about +$185
- 06 TSX is the white disk ver 4.31 for about +$185.

I don’t know when the 2006/2007 disk will be available or what the version numbers will be?

You can drill down in your Navi screen or eject the DVD disk in the trunk to check which version you currently have. They also have the occasional update/software changes during the year; those disk will have ver4.31a or ver4.31b, etc.. The disk will be as accurate as any local phone book or map put out during the same time (sometimes a little less accurate from my experience).

You have to use the correct disk for your vehicle or you will jack up the system (trying to use a 06 disk in a 04 TSX). Once you go up a version, you cannot go back down to the pervious version.

I haven’t heard of anyone trying to copy a disk on a DVD burner and trying to use it. It would be also nice to find an Acura supported web site owners can log into and view a list of the exact changes for their area. I register on the Acura Owners link; but it doesn’t show exact changes for the DVDs. My new housing development shows as an open field on my Navi; but most homes/streets had been there for over 18-24 months. I want to make sure my address is in the system before shelling out $185.

Yeah I don't have a TSX yet but I will.I am also moving with in a few months to a new area of town where just a few months ago there was no streets there at all, the houses are still being built so right after I move I will buy my TSX I'm hoping that the 07 TSX has a updated DVD that will have my street on it.

According to Owner Link, 4.31d is the current standard for 2006...however any owner of a 4.31a/b/c (me) would find it worthless to upgrade until the new version is released.

BTW, anyone know the "usually" issue period (for example, but the first of October, or whatever)?
