Getting a replacement bumper and possibly fender for my car. I may look into buying parts off here.

Do the parts come painted from Acura? I just assumed they do.

sigh, just called sunnyside and they do not come painted. he said they're flat black and need to be primed and painted, quite distressing, as I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal w/ offcolored parts.

it makes no sense to come prepainted from factory anyways, disregarding the possible damage during transport and storage, it wont match the cars paint..it will still have to be paint matched to the specific car as the colors do change a bit over time.

Volvo's bumpers are available color-coded and pre-painted.

Honda's aren't. Also, from what I see, Acura's TSX body kits arrive color-coded and pre-painted! Why they'd provide a pre-painted spoiler or ground effects but not the bumpers is something you'd need to ask Honda.

Im in the same position, in need of a front bumper.
From what Ive been reading, the OEM kit comes pre-painted and the bumpers do not =(
Looks like the bumper can be found online for $245 + shipping. $150 for painting? and Ill install it myself.

$150 for painting would be pretty good. My insurance estimated painting would be about $300. I'm most worried about someone doing a bad job w/ the pearl color.

$150 is way cheep for paint. Probably $300 or better would be more realistic. The rear bumper on my Golf was $400CDN to repaint and there is f-all material there.

Hmm. I was quoted $150 and $65 for materials. $220. Ill get a quote from an actual body shop. All state probably gave me a low quote to screw me under the deductable.

Hey xisor, since your bumper cover will have to be painted, absolutely insist on some kind of extended paint warranty. Through long experience, I have seen paint flake off plastic parts after the standard 90 day warranty.

Ive had very reputable body shops that do great work on sheetmetal have a square inch or two of paint flake off.

So, be careful. Discuss the problem, ask what they do about it, ask how theyll warrant it.

Just my 0.02.
