Do Canadian TSX automatically come with mud guards?
Do Canadian TSX automatically come with mud guards?
I stopped by the Acura dealer this afternoon after taking the pics of the Alabaster Silver Civics just to chat and look at some 05 TSX's.
I asked the salesman about mudguards and if people found them useful and he told me that all of the TSX's come with mudguards unless they have a bodykit.
Is this just something that my dealer does or is this common at Canadian dealerships?
Excited

It's a strange set up i think. Either the retail price should have covered all four guards or not at all.

I don't recall being offered a "protection package" when I made my purchase.
Besides the rear mud guards, i paid extra for the rubber floor mats and the trunk tray. I got all of these items at dealer's cost instead of retail price. I was only offered the rust protection and paint protection work by my car dealer.

" Protection Package
$391.31
We have combined cargo trays, all-weather floor mats and splashguards into one convenient package with a 10% discount."
I am getting the all-weather mats and cargo trays and I do want the rear splash guards, so I will get the "protections package".
I don't think that they detract from the look of the TSX as the black colour blends into the darkly lit wheel well.
Thanks for the advice.

It comes with front mud guards. I put the front and side skirts on, so the front guards can't fit. So I had them put the front one's on the back. But, if you had all the skirts you wouldn't be able to put any guards. I like the guards, it keeps the crap off the bottom of the rear fiberglass bumper, its important becasue the rear fiberglass bumper has a large painted bottom and dirt will show.
I double checked with my salesman today and their Acura's come with all four splash guards. All of the cars on the lot, except the ones with body kits, had four.
I'm not sure if it is something special that the dealer does or that Acura does for the area.
All of the Acura's also come with engine block heaters, not surprising because of our cold winters.

I was referring to block heaters here in Alberta, as oppose to here in Canada.

It must be special to your dealer /area because we don't need block heaters in Vancouver. Also, a lot of other local car dealerships do not throw in the rear mud guards because I noticed that lot other cars on the road around town who don't have rear mud guards installed (only the front guards are mounted). Personally, I prefer to buy rear mud guards on any car i purchase because I cannot tolerate the spray of mud to the back end of the car. It is probably more work to wash that part of the car.
I just picked up an 05 TSX (Vancouver) and it came with all 4 mudflaps. I think I'm going to take them off though because I heard they do more damage than good, collecting dirt and stuff. Is that right? Also, I think it looks better without them.
I ask for the trunk tray and floor mats on my 06 and when I picked it up the other day they had installed rear mud flaps saying they saved me money as it was part of a "protection" package that just happened to cost nearly $400 CAN. I didn't say anything as I don't think the mud flaps are a bad idea but $400??.
Front mudflaps are standard on the 06 also by the way.

West Side puts both sets of flaps as well as block heaters and wheel locks on all the cars it gets. When I was pricing out my EL in 2001, I couldn't figure out why West Side was about $200 more expensive than Silverhill in Calgary....then I figured out that West Side puts those things in my default and includes that in the price.
