I didnt even worry about getting a key when I had Moda do mine. I just let him do everything from getting the key to the actual mod. Luckily i live only about 45 min. away and got to watch him do it. He has become very skilled in the art of this mod. He makes it look so easy!

There are some funny things I've found out while doing it too.
1. The "black box" that has the immobilizer chip has a side that is more easy to get the chip out. I can tell by feel which ones are actually below the symbol and those that aren't.
2. Acura used a chip early on that was in the shape of a tube and is nearly impossible to get out. I've only had one of those though.
3. I've learned to make my own replacement screws because sometimes they have so much loctite that it refuses to come out.
4. The best part about this mod is handing it to the Service guy. The look is CLASSIC.

I got the key today (total time with shipping both ways was about 10 days). Not only did he send my new key fob, but also all scrap parts of my old key. I assume, just in case.
The key was mint. I took it out to my car and followed his included instrustions to program it. I read it first, it looks long but very simple (turn car on, press button, turn car off, press button...)
All was great, best money I spent on my Acura so far (OK tied with Tinting).
Thanks Ryan for a great job. Just need to get an Acura sticker for the key fob now

Hey moda, I attempted to do the mod about two months ago (and it's still sitting there), but I wasn't able to get the screw in since I don't have a tapper thing to make the threads into the cut key.... any recommendations?? The original screw isn't self tapping so it doesn't make things any easier...

^^ answered in detail with a PM
For everyone else, I just used a 1/16" drill bit and slightly enlarged that hole. The screw, with a little drop of loctite will hold the case together (Actually the screw becomes unimportant in my method) with ease.

Still the classic look was from the service manager. He flipped the key around trying to understand. I just smiled.

Got my key today!
Just wanted to let everyone know that I got my key back today from Ryan and that I am very, very pleased with the work he's done. The key looks very OEM which is a big . Programming it was snap with the instructions that he provided. If you're too worried about doing this kind of DIY and screwing up *raises hand*, send Ryan a PM. He's a great guy who does great work and was a pleasure to work with. Thanks Ryan!!

I wanted to get this key Mod for my '06 TSX but i'm not sure if the Honda Romote works with the '06 models. the FCC ID# don't match with the 06 TSX Remote. it's
OUCG8D-380H-A on my 06 Remote ID is OUCG8D-387H-A.
Have you Mod the 06 Remote for someone on the board yet Moda_Way??

Yes I have and it works fine with one exception. On the 2006 TSX, you have memory seats that will move to the memory location of Driver 1 or 2 when using the fob. This function is not transferrable to the USDM Accord key, so although everything else works fine, the seat will not auto-adjust unless you use the buttons in the car.

I got mine back from Ryan back in late March and it's fantastic! I also have a very cool custom made chrome on black "A" decal to fit snugly in the spot where the "H" logo was! Thanks again Ryan and some day I will make it over to see you! Chris

So I was fiddling with the badges and decided to try something...
Since moda_way was nice enough to include all of the original bits that were removed from the keys, I took the Honda and Acura emblems out and compared them to see how much of a size difference there was. Then, just using a file, I shaved away a bit of the top and bottom of the Acura emblem to allow it to fit into the space left by the Honda emblem. It's not a perfect fit, but at least it fills in the space pretty well.
Right now, it's just being held in there with a little scotch tape, but a bit of super glue, once I get my hands on some, should make this a permanent addition.

I've decided to leave the "H" on the fob. Like I told moda, it will be my first and last JDM mod. But that looks pretty good, nice job.
BTW, can't wait for it to arrive.

Just got my key tonight. I love it. This mod is better than the CAI or sway bar
Ryan did a great job, you would not be able to tell in any way that the key wasn't an original. Another very satisfied customer.

Key Fob Mod
Just received my modded key from Moda_way. Looks great and works perfectly. Took a little bit of time to cross the border both ways (I live in Toronto, Ont.), but other than that, everything went smoothly.
After having a similar key with two BMW 3 series, it's nice to once again have the Accord style key. Did not realize how much I missed it.
Highly recommended mod, and I highly recommend Moda_way.

Wheh - that was a lot of writing - any help?

Since HIDs burn out based on amount of times you turn off and on, I want to limit that and have them turn off after I lock the car.

This mod does not have a driver 1 or driver 2 remote signal to it.
