DIY: Cheap and Lazy way to mod your grill

DIY: Cheap and Lazy way to mod your grill
So I decided to remove the chrome off the grill today.
I didn't have to remove the bumper to get the grill off. It's not that hard to do this at all. It took me probably 20 minutes to pull everything off.
Step 1) remove the clips off your radiator cover then remove the cover. Sorry no pix here
Step 2) Remove the bottom 4 clips. I was able to use a screw driver to push these clips out easily. This picture was taking from behind the grill
Grill is off. Here is where all the clips are located.
Picture of grill from behind. Notice the small screws.
Removing the chrome. This is how it looks like afterward
You can improve this by painting it black, but for now I will be driving around like this

If you did something besides just take a piece out, maybe we'd like it more?
Just looks hacked in my opinion.
But maybe you're going to do more to it?

I have to put it back to get to a wedding. There will be more work done to it.
Notice if you want to paint the chrome piece to black, you can use my picture to know where the screws are and use a screw driver to unscrew it from the back. You can do that without removing the grill. I think the purpose of this post is to let you know how easy it is to remove the grill. Until then I will update on my grill later on.

Make a hole, coming thru!
I wonder how it would look with something intermediate from chrome to black ... like chrome/gunmetal. Hrm. The (A) would stand out and it wouldn't look "painted." Wonder if someone would do that professionally for me....

Burning Brakes
Not for nothing just looks like someone stole the chrome triming off the car or like you hit something and it fell off, I would really recommend just painting the chrome triming or if you really want to be cheap about it just electrical tape the chrome trim this way you black it out without it looking like theres something missing.

That looks like a whole boatload of fail.
If you want it to look nice, do like one of the other posters mentioned and paint that section something other than chrome and put it back on. A body shop won't charge you much at all to get that done right.

Shouldn't cost more then $25
Can be found at your local pep boys and autozone.
I really think it will look good on his NBP if he decides to do it.
