^^I noticed that too. I think I remember seeing vthree on the independent fog mod thread having a similar problem with lights not working.

vthree, good luck, and sorry for us getting off topic. The only reason I got off topic was because I thought this thread was dying out when I posted it.

lol.. thanks man for keeping my thread alive..

yeah i had an issue with the fogs before... i see it a little different from this issue. and in terms of severe damage. that was NOTHING compared to this. i had to remove the entire dash.. oh yeah and before that: navi swap, vents, airbag, steeringwheel column, and i would say at least 40 bolts. lol. plust just in general figuring out how things were put together. i felt like i was stripping my tsx to be a race car or something. lol. i've never ever taken out a dashboard before; but this experience was good. and i definitely learned a LOT.

While youre prewiring things, if your even remotely considering replacing the speakers in the furture, run new wires for the tweeters while you have the dash apart. Stock ones are really short.
thanks for this post... i take it as a compliment. and thanks for the advice on the tweeters, i already had changed them prior to tearing the dash out... but upon reinstalling them, i decided to add an extension of wire.. it sure did make things a lot easier..

and incase you haven't caught up... I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!

tomorrow when i finish installing the rest of the interior, i'll definitely snap a shot.. lol although it'll look boring like a normal interior... it brings me so much joy. haha.

Good. Not only did you fix your shorted out lights, but you got the footwell lights working too.

I'm doing UV color as soon as it warms up again.

well i can be ghetto with UV, or Scion TC Man with blue. ha, I like purple and blue mixed actually. Try mixing a second color with the oem blue to create a color theme for your interior. Don't worry about your car reminding you of a scion. You can just unlearn the association! Also, if you're mod is unique enough, then it won't look like ANY other car.

I wanted to do something similar, but I want to remain subtle and unique. So I'm thinking real hard about how to wire up something unusual. I think I'm going to mount a narrow beam 5mm blue LED in the cup holder aimed toward the dash and wired to the dome lights. You see, I wired a 5mm to a 9V and played around with it in my car at night to decide where to mount it. I found that having blue shine on the metal trim around the radio and come on with white led domes looks neat... a good balance of subtlety and noticeability. So I'm gonna have to work on this when it warms up.

Also, it'd be neat to drill a hole on the bottom of the door pocket and run a wire to the door lights.

Hats off to you.

I'd be afraid to not be able to put back the dash together after tearing it apart like that... and I don't have a garage or a shop.
