All the Navi can get from the GPS is Zulu time (even this time is offset from Zulu and then corrected). Algorithims in the navi do the conversion for DST, so it will be manual changes from now on

Dealers got a message a week or so ago that the Navi would not adjust to the new DST. Apparently Honda/Acura is working on a software upgrade, but did not release any details.

Updating Dst On 04 Tl
Well, I see a number of you were able to manually update the clock on your NAV equipped cars. I can't find anything on how to do this in the user manual, so may I have instructions, please

Everyone, check this thread for the manual fix (04-05 and 06-07) if you are interested: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36626

This'll be even more fun next year, if the Energy Commission decides that those 'energy savings' don't actually exist after their study and if they and the Bush administration can overcome egos to revert the DST changes.

I can let Honda ride for the '04s, 05's and maybe the '06s but there is no excuse for the ''07s. The ruling making this change was made back in 2005. They had 2 years to get a patch ready.
I suppose this won't be a free patch either - I will have to get an updated NAVI disc to see the changes at $200.
Honda should have been "working on a fix" for this in 2005 to have it ready out the door for Jan '07.

Do you really think that an administration that is willing to send 20,000 more kids to get killed, rather than admit their mistake in Iraq, cares more about a trivial inconvenience to Acura owners?! Uh, well....come to think of it, they probably do. OK, never mind.

Working on??? The daylight savings change was signed into law back in July 2005. This should have been fixed by now. I bought last years NAV update which did a firmware upgrade, I would have thought it would have been corrected at that time.

I have a 2005 w/NAV and the time was wrong yesterday morning so I kicked the offset up an hour. However, when I got in my car at 7:30pm EST last night the date was an hour ahead so I had to roll back the offset... it appears the satellites were updated at some point during the day yesterday. I was sure this would require a software fix for the car, but I guess the satellites don't just send down the GMT time for the car to use to calculate the correct time, the sat. must send down the correct time for your timezone if this was fixed remotely....

So now, instead of never adjusting the clocks, you'll do it 4 times.
Oh boy!

I read that as: "We're working on a software patch, that will be available as a part of the 2008 navi disk upgrade, available online for $185 in Oct. 2007."

For what its worth...I just got back from my dealer (Lindsay Acura in Columbus, OH) and I asked him about the Daylight Savings issue and he seemed pretty certain that there is a fix coming.

Navi system is very poor
I had an aftermarket Garmin system before buying my 2006 TSX and it is much better than the Acura one for less than 1/3 of the cost. https://acurazine.com/forums/newrepl...te=1&p=679927# The data on the DVD is very bad, not having many places that have been in existance for many years and many roads. It does a poor job of projecting arrival times also. Acura needs a much better system before people catch on ow bad this one is

I don't know about you, but for my area, it works very well. Places here are static, so there haven't been much changes (at least in the type of areas I visit. As for arrival times, it's pretty much dead on for me. You do know that it stops the timer when you stop moving (IE: traffic light)? The car can't tell which intersections have lights and how long they'll be red.
I haven't seen an aftermarket navi come close to my TSX's navi. In fact, I've even turned them off and just imagined I was in my TSX lol

I don't know what system you turned off, but I have sat down in the dealership and had the sales people embarassed with the Acura Navi's poor data base. Your post shows you working for a dealer so I understand you don't want to lose this sale on this high mark up item but it is a read dud and you won't do your customers any favors selling it to them. When I say it is doing a poor projection of arrival times,I am on an open highway with 55 MPH-65 speed limits and it acts as if I am going to drive 40 Mph to my destinaition. There is not a single traffic light in the hour and a half trip so telling me it's going to be well over two hours is a joke. My Garmon is within minutes, not the hour off that the acura unit is. I had i=one salesman tell me they just didn't know how bad it was utill he saw my garmin which cost $700 not the $2000 acura gets.
