Unhappy Detailer?

Hello, new to the site but have lurked around for a bit... I orginally posted this in the Acurazine Main Community page not realizing that there is a model specific section...

I'm looking for a good auto detailer in the Northern NJ / NYC area. I want to get a full exterior detail to get that "showroom" shine back.

Here's the story: I went to the car wash a few weeks ago after we got hammered with snow / salt / slush etc.

Between the car wash itself and the car "dryers" I have a ton of swirl marks in the clear coat

By the way, I have a NBP TSX...

I haven't washed the car since because 1. we got another snow storm and are supposed to get snow tomorrow, 2. I'm afraid if I take it to another car wash the finish is going to get even more messed up.

Anyone have any suggestions??

Wash it yourself. Alot of those places you take it for a car wash will leave swirl marks. BTW once it stops raining you diffently take it to a detailer. I would never take my TSX to one of those machine car wash, I would be affraid of getting those damn swirl marks.

I usually try to wash it myself. It's a little difficult now that I moved into an apartment without access to an outside hose

The only reason I brought it to a car wash was because of the amount of salt on it due to the snow / ice. So much for trying to do the right thing.

Anyway, 60 views and no one from the Northern NJ / NYC area knows of any good detailers??

You should try posting in the Wash & Wax section: https://acurazine.com/forums/forumdi...aysprune=&f=23

BTW, check your PM too.

Wish I could help.... but I don't know any in this area either. (I live in the Jersey City waterfront.)

The only thing is, isn't almost pointless around here? I find that everytime I get my car washed, it's dirty just a day or two later sicne the roads around here are so damn grimy. My daily commute (which takes me on 280 through Newark) always leaves a fine layer of blackish dust! When it rains here in Jersey, just say goodbye to your clean car.

Back in Cali, I never had to deal with so much damn dirt and crap.

Make sure you wax it after washing. Then the dirt that settles on your car after that is much easier to wash off, only needing the hose with a shower head.
