Delivery in the rain?
Delivery in the rain?
As of Friday, our '05 TSX was in Minnesota, heading for a Tuesday delivery to us here in a suburb of New York City. We're soooo excited but the problem is, the forecast here for Tuesday is rain.
Has anyone taken delivery of their TSX in the rain? Our inclination is to wait a day or so to take delivery, but we're both like children on Christmas morning; we want our TSX!

Interesting question. When I picked up my TSX a few months back, it was late at night and pouring. The salesman gave me my prep under a overhang and inside the car. It did make the experience less exciting IMO.
I got mine and it was POURING out.. I couldnt wait though, I had to have it.
Dont worry about the body... the interior is what bothered me. Anyway, spent 10 minutes the next day, looks "like new" hehehe, love my tsx

I took delivery in the rain. certainly dampens the excitement, no pun intended. But, your car is going to get rained on anyways so might as well enjoy it a day earlier. also, it isn't like the dealers keep these cars stored inside before they are sold anyways.
Scratches and minor imperfections in the paint can be hidden by water. Make sure you've inspected a dry car in a well lit area before you take delivery. ....Mine had a couple of minor scratches on the rear bumper that just would not have been spotted if it was wet or if it was dark out. ....Look carefully and don't setle for less than perfection before you drive off.

Congratulations
Congratulations on your TSX. I live a few miles from you and I am also awaiting delivery of my TSX. I hope it comes in this week. Regarding the rain, I would try to wait for a day when you have no distractions. That way you can take your time an d feel comfortable with the delivery.
I took delivery last friday in Eugene, Oregon. Normally, it would have been raining but I lucked out and it was dry. The dealership here has a special inside room for all deliveries...rather impressive and a nice way to be able to go over the vehicle.
I would have picked it up even in the rain, however. I would not want to be concerned that they might be letting people test drive it...it's a 6 speed and people have to usually wait if they want to try one.
By the way, really liking the car so far...and xm radio is fantastic.

Also, as some of you mentioned, I feel a a rainy day would dilute ;o) our joy.
Thanks for everybody's input. I appreciate it.
Ennzzo, I'm in Phoenix too and it rained when I took delivery. Rains like twice a year and it happened on my day. It was cleaned and waiting under the outer car port so I could check it out.

That's why they say to never buy a car in the rain or the dark.

My dealer had an overhang in the prep area as well. But no problems with rain anyway..
