Delays after delays after delays.
So on June 11th, I brought my car to the dealership for an alignment and to replace the 2nd + 3rd gear synchros. They estimated that I would get my car back by the the 15th, but delayed it to 16th since they didn't finish the job, which wasn't a big deal.
So I called on the 16th only to hear that it wasn't complete. Then they told me to call the next morning because it'll be complete by the 17th.
I called on the 17th and they told me everything was done but the tranmission wasn't quite "in" and the service manager wanted them to test drive the car to see if it was at optimum performance. I argued and asked why they gave me misleading information if it wasn't going to be done by today, and he said he didn't know anything about it.
I called on the 18th, asked who I spoke to for reference and asked to put the service technician on the phone because I was told it wasn't complete yet--again. I talked to the technician and he explained what was wrong with my car and explained what he was doing and replacing.
I called on the 19th, and they told me that the wheel sensors were off, so they fed-exed the parts overnight and that it would be done by the 22nd.
I called today and they told me that "just" today that the wheel alignment rotor's were broken, and they ordered the parts they needed from California and would be done by tomorrow.
:sqnteek:
I'm getting pretty pissed off because I'm being told that it would be done on a certain date, but when that certain date comes, they tell me it'll be done on another "certain" date.
I don't know. Am I getting punched in the face with their lies? Or am I being a bit too paranoid?

While you do feel "deprived" I think you should give your dealer credit for making sure the car is %110 before giving it back to you. Lets say the skipped the wheel sensors and it threw a code a week later and you had to take it back in, wouldnt you have been more pissed?

I agree. You have a loaner, don't piss the guys off. Then they'll be rushing through and give you your car back all f'ed up! You don't want that. Give em time to do the job the right way. Hopefully you took down the mileage before you dropped it off, that way you'll know if they were bullshitting and just joyriding in your car.
Seen it happen!

Seriously, I suggest you go back to check your car and ask them to explain the problem to you in person. I agree with cmf; you don't want to piss them off. Just ask politely.
The reason for my suggestion. A friend of mine brought his car in for minor fix but the dealer accidentally scratched the bumper. So the dealer just kept postponing without telling the truth. So for the whole week, the car was actually in a bodyshop painting bumper.

See, that's what I'm paranoid about. I'm not trying to piss them off, I'm trying to find out when I can get my car back.
Wouldn't you be frustrated if each time you called, the response was either "oh, not done yet" or "we found another problem, call back tomorrow" ?

My 3 week old TSX is back at the dealer. The steering wheel is off to the left when driving in a straight line. They say there is something bent in the suspension that is not allowing them to do a 4 wheel alignment. I got a 03 3.2 TL for a loaner. Nice car but it's been pretty beat up for having only 18k miles. Been there 3 full days already. I can't wait to get it back. I miss it.
