Decorative trim on wheel and dash

Why does the third spoke on the steering wheel have no silver decorative trim yet looks to be molded to receive something?

For those of you with the wood trim on the dash does it bother you that you have silver trim on the wheel? I think the interior in the Milano Red and Black models looks strange because of it.

There is a silver trim kit that replaces that piece.

Is there a kit to replace the silver on the wheel with wood?

Yes, the bottom spoke on the wheel is designed to have a trim over it, hence the indentation. The picture below shows just how perfectly another metal piece would fit. And yes, I also think the wood interior clashes with the metal on the steering wheel.

What version of the Accord is that and is all the trim aftermarket?

That interior is hot! I like the silver around the gauges, the pedals, and that shift knob and silver gate surround.

This is the interior from a Honda Accord concept vehicle shown at one of the auto
shows (I think Tokyo). I think it looks incredible and hope to see it in a production model in the near future.

I've actually been thinking about this and I really don't mind it. I think wood on the steering wheel looks a bit tacky. And the silver looks well... less tacky.

I have a feeling that the silver at the top of the wheel would be a little distracting. It certainly would reflect a lot of light. I don't mind the inserts in the spokes of the wheel though. Notice the lack of thumb controls .

I don't think so. There's a NBP/Parch in my condo with the wood kit, and it has all the console panels and even the wheel rim inserts, but no spoke pieces. I think the writing on the buttons would be obscured by the woodgrain. There's something strange about electronic controls pretending to be wood.

Actually if you get the metal trim kit with the parch/wood interior it compliments the steering wheel nicely. That'll prob be my xmas present.
