Dash headlight indicator

So ok this may just be a minor peeve of mine but.... 2005 TSX
Ok so when you turn on your lights you go first to the parking lights denoted something like this =o o=
This then illuminates the same light icon in your gauge cluster.
Then when you actually turn on your head lights the only indication they are on is the different gauge brightness intensities you have between having the headlights on or off. There is no gauge cluster icon that lights up when your headlights are on.

This only really bothered me recently when I was driving around at night well lit city streets apparently only with my parking lights on (my mistake). Someone turned in front of me at an intersection (not really a close call) and I honked my horn.

As I left the city I immediately noticed that my head lights weren't on, which may have explained why the person turned in front of me.

Anyway, in my 01 Prelude it even had a headlights-on indicator on the gauge cluster... why not in the TSX? Is the gauge brightness change suppose to be your only indication?

???

I never just turn on the Parking Lights so I never knew that its the same cluster light indicator when the beams are on.

I normally wait until someone flashes lights at me and then I break out my pistol and cap their ass.

Heh except when it's a cop flashing their lights at you to pull over for driving without your lights on

I think the lights have auto-off feature, so I just leave my headlights on all the time.

Oh and btw this is even more important in NY State where it's a law that you have to have your lights on (night time or not) if you are using your wipers (ie it's raining). Now I'd immediately know I didn't have my parking light on... I'll give you that... but if I mistakedly only bump the stem one position I still couldn't tell if they were on or not, especially if my brightness levels were the same for lights on or off....

Minor issue sure sure... until I make the mistake with a cop around. It's not as obvious as forgetting to buckle your seat belt (also a law in NY).

Yah, that's one way around it I guess.... if you always drive around with your lights on day or night
