Convertible acura?

You think Acura will ever release a Convertible "Sports Car"

Honda has the s2000 which goes for around $30k

Acura has the NSX but thats a little high in price around $90K

Im thinking a powerful sport Coupe/Convertible think it will happen?

I think the question that comes first is: What's going to be with ANY KIND of Acura coupe?

i doubt it..no V8 or RWD = no luxury convertible or any convertible for that matter, Honda only has the S2K and that won't fit into acura's lineup at all.

scared

The one thing i was scared about is that they took out the CL because they have the RSX-S. No offence to the RSX owners but i wouldn't want the RSX-S as acuras "Sport Coupe" I mean think of the rest of the Luxury Cars. (BMW,MB,Volvo,SAAB,AUDI) They all have an Convertible for a reasonable price....

Saab's 9-3 ragtop stickers starting at $39995 and $42600 for the Aero (deep discounts available)....and thats compared to a $33060 sticker for the S2000. Which is a "real" sports car, and one of the best around. If Honda thinks they can make money with another convertible (or coupe) they will, however the hot spot in the market seems to be SUVs/trucks.

So I doubt it. But I'm not a member of Honda's corporate strategic steering committee. They've no doubt explored the idea.

Yeah, Honda, when it comes to Acura, is very cautious. It took them long enough to catch on to the luxury SUV game, and the convertible market has not yet proven itself to be highly profitable. Besides, I see the new RDX SUV appealing to a larger audience than an Acura convertible.

Honda has a funny way of doing business in the automotive industry, particularly when it comes to the timing (which is basically late) of any vehicle that is not a traditional coupe or sedan. I think their philosophy would be best stated as "The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese".
But actually with Honda, they wait for all the mice to go in and then try to fight for the cheese.

The RDX is Acura's future small SUV due out in 05 based of the CR-V platform. It will most likely have the TSX's 200HP 2.4, with IMA a possibility.
