Considering purchase of modded car

I've been looking for a 2006 6 speed for a while, but they all seem to be in FL and NY for some reason. I was hoping to find one that is stock since it is less likely to have been driven hard and will probably get better gas mileage.

What do you think of the mods that have been put into this car, and how hard would it be to change the final drive back to stock:

VEHICLE INFORMATION
Make: Acura
Model: TSX
Year: 2006
Price: 15975
Mileage: 41000
Color: Gray
Cylinders: 4 Cylinder
Transmission: Manual

Acura didn't put a Limited Slip Differential on the TSX. I did! At a cost of $3,000 plus labor a Quaife LSD, Toda Heavy Duty Street Clutch, Toda Lightweight Flywheel, and Shortened Final Drive were installed.

The engine started at 205 crank HP stock and with modifications boasts ouput of 210HP - AT THE WHEELS!
(285 minus 25% drivetrain loss)

1. Hondata computer chip ($1000).
This modification increases max rpm by 300 rpm topping out at 7,600. The chip adds a whoppiing 28ft/lb torque and 32 hp in the middle of the torque curve.

2. A QUIET cold air intake by INJEN was installed. I tried another brand first and sent it back because it was just too loud. The intake now only chimes in on wide open throttle and adds a mildly throaty note in normal driving. This adds 15 HP.

3. A comptech header was added for 10 more HP.

4. Lightweight, stock size pulley wheels were changed in, adding 10 HP and a huge improvement in accelerator feel.

5. Topping the cake is a set of FORGED, Ultralight Motegi Racing wheels mounted with NEW Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Tires - #1 wet handling tire ever.

Asking $15,500- No navi

I emailed the guy about this car. Really nice guy. I'm in PA and was going to have it shipped but I ended up buying another delivery van for my business (odyssey of course!)and decided not to get it. The mods seem really well done. Only thing I wasn't sure of was the limited slip. It sounds awesome but I didn't know anyone else that has done one and what it did to the car. Other than that, they are expensive mods on a really well priced used TSX. A steal if you ask me. Oh and I ran a carfax on it and it is a clean 1 owner car. I wish it was closer me.

Not a fan of buying someone else's experiments, but this does sound well done. My main concerns (among many smaller ones) would be warranty (good luck with that) and resale. If you're not worried about those and can live with the mods, then let your conscious be your guide. Too bad you can't find a stock one, but since the manuals were/are only 5% of production, not too surprising (though there's a reason why they only make a relative handful).

Thanks for the replies. So my next question is, how hard is it to put the final drive back to stock? This would be my commuting car, so I want the low revs for the highway.

LSD, short final drive, lightweight flywheel? I would avoid that car like the plague. Previous owner beat the hell out of that car on a regular basis. Nobody changes the final drive with just the mods listed in that ad. I'd bet a ton of cash that car had a turbo charger on it at one time and was tracked regularly. There's just no reason to mess with the final drive otherwise.

I agree with itchy. I'd stay clear of it. I bought a modded car 2 cars ago and at first it was great but then the problems flared up. Not to mention that estimated hp gain is way too high. Unless that LSD does some drastic improvement it's pretty damn hard to get a tsx above 280bhp. Hence the reason I sold mine I do miss it a little though. Good luck with whatever you decide.
