Considering black, hard to take care of?

I had a Milano Red Civic where the factory paint held up very well over 11 years. The paint remained a deep red over that time - I could compare it against a repainted panel that didn't hold up nearly as well. I'm not saying it didn't fade, but it retained a good red colour.

Look around you. There's a reason why so many of the cars in hot climates are lighter colors.
My car won't be in a garage at all times and the hot sun is going to be rough on the black most likely.
Given your concerns I think you'll be sorry you bought a black car after the newness wears off. Get the white.
