Confused by mp3 player/ipod connection for 06 vs. 07
#2
the 06 is just an aux input (ie headphone jack). The 07 still has the aux input but now has an Ipod specific connector in the glove box. This connector lets you control your ipod with the navigation unit.

Yes, what does this mean...is the Music Link already installed?

The new Acura Music Link System allows you to play music from your Apple iPod® on your vehicle's audio system. Music Link connects your iPod directly to your sound system for crisp, audiophile-quality results. Not only can you use the audio system's controls to search for and play music from your iPod, while it's connected, the Music Link System will even charge your iPod battery.

This is a dealer installed option? Can it be installed in a 2006?

Says its only available for
2007 RDX
2006 RL
2006 TL
2006 MDX
Acura Music Link is NOT compatible with the following vehicles:
2006 or earlier TSX
2006 or earlier RSX
2005 or earlier Acura models
I like how its available for the 2006 TL but not the 2006 TSX.

I heard the Musiclink isn't too great anway. Search around for some reviews. I'd get the USASpec instead. I installed that adapter on Imaginary17's TSX awhile ago and I was impressed with it. It's cheaper, gave him steering wheel control of the Ipod, charged the Ipod, and also had an additional RCA input for a portable DVD player for whatever you want.
Reach is also running a USASpec. yaddaImean

The TL is a "step" above our cars so I can see why they got the upgrade first.

I have the musiclink w/ Ipod Mini in my 05 TSX and it does work even if Acura denies it. The only problem I heard with the musiclink is that on 06 TSX they had XM bleeding thru musiclink when you start the car back up and left the HU on.
SO if ppl with 04-05 TSX wants to get musiclink they can get it. I do admit that musiclink software does suck.
