Yeah, I am sure the valet is made to say that to every owner... but at least he didn't have to lie saying it to you

random compliment from stranger

Time for a little thread revival

So I pulled into work's parking lot this morning. Some construction contractors (for a neighbour office) were already in the lot getting stuff out of their car and trucks. One approached me asking about parking permits and if they are enforced, etc., give him my Then he came up even closer to me and my car (which is on his way to the building), took a double-look and said "nice new car, an Acura huh..."

That's the first verbal compliment any of my cars has ever got from a perfect stranger

Should I be worried that he might be after my car??? He's got lots of tools to take apart the car if he wanted to...

I guess we're talking about compliments and spoting other TSX's. I noticed a really nice Silver Meteor Metallic on the way into work. I think it's the first one I've seen here. Very nice color also. Mine is SSM and I've noticed two others in the parking lot at work. There's also a black TL with a hot chick in it that I see while driving home. And I see a TL on the way in......... seems like more TL's around here than TSX's. Have you guys noticed that too?

At where I am at, TSX's and TL's are both quite popular... easily spotting 10 of each every day which kind of makes receiving compliment about it that much more special here

Please fellas... everyone knows Satin Silver Metallic is the best looking color BY FAR!!!! lol

It's also statistically proven that silver cars are less likely to be ticketed/noticed by the law...

Yeah, I saw it on 20/20 a couple years ago. They're also "less likely to be involved in accidents."

Of course Red/Yellow was top on the list of cars to be ticketed/accidents/noticed...

Thats probably why when you look at a parking lot, the most prevalent color you will see is some type of silver/light gray.

One time the indian dood at 7-eleven started to talk to me about my car. He said he loves the TSX as well and hopes to get one.

I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the car or the type of person driving it. Red and yellow atracts a certain type of buyer. One that's more extroverted and wants attention. The tickets and being noticed I can uderstand, but the only thing that would increase accidents is the driver of that car. It's not like a person is more likely to hit a red or yellow car. If that was the case, people would be running down taxi's and school buses all the time.

what you are saying about the drivers of the "attention grabbing" colour cars might just be more aggressive and dangerous drivers on their own anyway.

Actually I think bright colours like yellow and red are more visible on the roads, thus even the most careless drivers in other cars would be able to spot them. As a result, less likely to run into them. On the other hand, a colour like Carbon Grey (which is what I have ) somewhat looks close to being the colour of the road... might "blend" in to it, thus some other drivers might miss it in their vision. I run my HID all the time partly for that reason, to compensate that risk...
