Completed week one of TSX ownership!
The time had come for me to retire my faithful '98 Honda Accord as my daily drive. The car had 160,000 trouble-free miles on the odometer and needs a fair amount of work done--among other things, a timing belt change is in order. So, wife and I decided to take the Accord off main vehicle status and buy something else for us to drive around most days.
We are a lot better off now than we were when we picked up the Accord, so I started canvasing the cars that I'd been thinking about owning for the past few years. I test drove the "usual suspects"--a few 3 series BMWs, a C class Mercedes, a 350Z (which I thought I'd love, because I learned to drive in a 1976 280Z, but suprisingly I really didn't care for the 350Z at all), a certified pre-owned Lexus GS300, and a couple of different Infinitis. Acura just wasn't on my radar until I almost by accident read a review of the TSX.
Hmm. Dead in the middle of my price range, ridiculously huge list of standard features, high resale value, and (hopefully) the same Honda reliability that I'm used to getting from a vehicle. Definitely worth a test drive.
I scheduled an appointment at the nearest Acura dealership and drove their demo TSX. It was an impressive experience--most of you guys have experienced the same thing, so I don't need to go into detail, but about thirty seconds into the test drive I knew that I was going to buy a TSX. I loved the tight handling and the eagerness of the VTEC engine, but most of all I loved the smell of the leather, and how damned good the car made me feel when I slipped into it.
All the negociation was done via e-mail, between four local Acura dealerships, and eventually settled on $28,195 (destination included) for a 5 speed auto TSX with Navi, which gave me a total drive-off price of $30,215.45. As a side note, anyone in Houston looking for a TSX should talk to Jeremy, the Internet Sales Manager at Champion Acura. He's friendly, quick to respond to e-mails and voicemails, and communicates with absolutely zero BS. This was the easiest new car buying I've ever done, and was, dare I say it, almost fun.
I've owned several new cars, but none has left me as excited at the end of the day as my new TSX. I just want to drive it. I want to drive it right now. I'm sitting here, typing this up, but I'm thinking, "You know, I could be out driving right now." Sitting in the car while it eats miles is a pure joy, and I feel completely confident that I made the right decision about which car to buy.

I have had my 06 TSX for one week too, and I am more in love now than before!!! So congrats on getting yours. Although I must disagree on the color... Roya; Blue Pearl and Ebony interion is the only way to go.

I also have had my TSX for just about a week(on an off as I was getting it tinted and a spoiler installed). I just got off the beauty and came home straight to this forum to brag about it!
I will keep calling it an "Engineering Masterpiece", because it really is one(in every aspect).
Only if it had a bulletproof body... man...
Congrats man.

I think I am most impressed by the HFL's voice recognition. The nav system's voice recognition is good--very good--but the HFL is scary-good. Like, Honda/Acura has made a deal with space aliens for their voice recognition technology. I can read off phone numbers as quickly as I'd say them to a person, no pauses or anything, and it picks them up with zero mistakes. It's awesome, and I've never experienced anything that picks up words as well as it does. Totally awesome.

I too have had my TSX not too long ago and am really happy about it still. I can't stop staring at it while parked & love to drive it every chance I get. This is just an awesome car.
