Compilation of 2006 TSX Prices in Chicago, IL

I tried to find how much people in the Chicago area paid for their 2006 TSX. I was not too successful in finding a lot so I thought I should post the two I found with hopes of others sharing 1) the price they paid, 2) the dealership they went to and 3) their salesperson's name:

Price #1 from acuravtec86
"My sister picked just bought an 06 Carbon Grey Pearl w/ Navi for $27,800 before taxes. She got all-weather floor mats thrown in."

Price #2 from MilwaukeeAcura
"I just bought my '06 no-navi last night in Chicago. It took about 45 minutes but I got them from $29,100 down to $26,700. That was 'suppose to include the $496 protection package and all fees'. I say that because once the dealing was done, they tried jacking me for another $100 of some lame fees. Then they told me all I was going to get on the protection package was the $50 mud flaps and the $35 wheel locks (no tray or mats).
In the end I didn't have to pay any extra fees, but I'm still waiting for my tray and mats. I mean, $496 option better be something more than some flaps and nuts.
I'm not holding my breath, but if they do come through on their word of a $496 protection package then it will have been a great experience and I'll pass on the dealer's name.
For anyone in Wisconsin, I spent hours, upon hours trying to work with a Wisconsin Dealership and gave them 5+ opportunities to earn my business - with no flexibility. all they'd offer was $28,000 +ttl/fees on a non-navi. They told me that I'd be hard pressed to find one for less than that. I can't say 45 minutes of negotiating and an extra hour drive can be considered "hard pressed" - but I did save a ton of money by heading a little south."

I'm giving you a for all the negotiation w/ different Dealership.

I was in a hurry to buy the 05 TSX in Dec and found out the dealership charged the DEMO (w/ 3600km on it) CAR for a FULL NEW CAR price, those manager over there tricked me badly. 3 days fter that I went back to the dealership before picking up the car, negotiated for 4 straight hours, and got my EXTRA money back w/ my TSX.

$27,800 for an '06 in Chicago is an awesome price. I'm working with the same dealer on an ordered TSX!

I paid a little more out a rizza acura in orland....approx $32,400

That includes:

NAV
7yr/100mi extended waranty ($1500+)
winter mats/lug nuts
17" High performance rims ($1500+)
dent protection (400+)

Technically, w/o the extras, I was probably was around $29,500...

Salesguy was ok - didn't have any trade-in, blew the motor on my wife's 96' MX6 and didn't put a dime down either...

Bought mine last week at Elmhurst Acura.

Carbon Grey with Ebony interior, AT, Navi.

Paid $700. over invoice with no extra options. It was a decent experience - they didn't push me too hard on extended warranty, other options, etc...

They also had a black/ebony, AT, Navi in stock.

2005

I purchased a 2005 CG TSX non-navi from McGrath Acura in Westmont, Illinois in June of 05. I know you are interested in 06's but at least I can comment on the service I received during purchase and after.

Very nice dealership who I felt was pretty straight up throughout the entire process. Lots of inventory on site. I walked in, wrote my price on a piece of paper and had a deal in 10 minutes. (price = $27,780 OTD) I included all taxes, fees etc. in my price and not a dollar more was added on at any point throughout the process. They did try to sell me every extra under the sun but a polite no is all it took to get them to move on to the next item. I was there close to 4 hours filling out paper work, applying for a loan, going over the car, etc.

They give free car washes for life as well at their on site car wash. When having the car serviced they always have a car for me to use for the day.

Purchasing a new car can be painful but I felt the process, as a whole, was manageable. Hopefully, the next car I purchase will be from McGrath Lexus of Westmont, located right next door!

$1000 over invoice
Dealership: Continental Acura
Salesperson:
Lease:
Term: 36 months no money down
$0.20/mi over 75000 miles
Money factor = .00260

Trade-in: $16,500 for 2004 TSX/Navi with 71000 miles

Comments:
All in all, using the more realistic figure (for me) of 25,000 miles per year, my payment is $127 less to lease. Over three years that adds up nicely.
I know the sales mgr and my salesman pretty well and I know they wouldn't screw me. The sales mgr. was very candid about money factor, residuals, and anything else I asked. If you don't have an Acura dealer you're particularly fond of I'd go to Continental Acura. They just treat me right what can I say.

What was your experience? I have found that most dealers in Chicago are not "deal friendly". I have a deposit with them for an '06.

You're right about the lack of deals. The first two I tried would not come down any more than $1000 over invoice (and they thought they were real deal friendly) and even then would not give me much for my trade-in. McGrath says they are the Midwest's largest volume dealer, but they have zero when it comes to 6MT's.

Funny thing is, I had to go to other dealers to test drive a manual. Then one Saturday McGrath calls me up to say they have a manual to test drive. When I got there four hours later, it was already sold and unavailable. So McGrath hardly gets any 6-speeds, but then sells the few they get right away.

My 05 TSX buying experience

Purchased an 05 TSX 6MT at Rizza in Orland Park last August. Contacted two other dealers, Continential and McGrath over the internet; their prices were not even close to Rizza. Rizza also gave me the floor and truck mats, and the wheel locks. No extra charge. I don't see any deals in this forum that are even close.

And that's BS dood. That's their way of getting you into the dealership. I went there to test drive a car that they said was there and ready, and miraculously, it was sold when I got there.

They don't even know their inventory. I specifically stated numerous times, I am looking for a black on black with navi, no wood. They call, say that they have one in. I go there, it is blue with tan interior with navi and with wood.

I agree. I negotiated for an hour over a price at one dealer until I asked to see the VIN. When he looked it up, the car was sold! But they got me to drive 30 miles to Elmhurst. Another dealer said we'll have a new 6MT for you to drive next Monday. When I get there it's an '05. Which doesn't really make a huge difference because the gear boxes are essentially the same, but still....
They got me to come in and I eventually did order with them.

As for $33,000 for a used '05 ???? That is an insult to all unlobotomized humans.

OldManTSX's contribution

The deal is complete:

2006 TSX Premium White Pearl 6 speed with Navigation
Dealership: Arlington Acura in Palatine (IL)
General Manager: Jeff Jafrani
Sales Person: Jeff Baldassarra
Car was ordered for me by the General manager without a downpayment. Build date was 1/30/06. ETA given was 2/27. Actual arrival was 2/28. Took delivery is 2/28.

Price paid:
$28,800 = Car
$ 1,200 = installed price for Front, Side and Rear Ground Effects (no trunk spoiler)
----------
$30,000

Quick negotiation (15 minutes) as in the past. The trade-in was less than I expected. $19,500 for '04 TSX 6 speed with Navi and ground effects with 39,200 miles. I have the car in the color I've always wanted so I'm happy. Other than the new features I have over the '04 model, my other little bonus is I'm paying less than my previous payments

'06 Carbon Gray/Quartz AT with Navi
Acura of Libertyville
$27,905
Salesman: Jerry Solan
Purchased 02-25-06
No complaints about how I was handled. Gave me bluebook for my trade, which was $200 more than the selling dealer offered.
