Color Changing Gauge Face
I just talked to Sean from LEDmod.com and he told me he would work on our gauge clusters. He's located in Las Vegas but said he would meet anyone in So Cal. The time it would take him to fabricate a kit is 1 day so i guess someone could meet up with him and hang out until he's done. He never gave me a price but from his site the LED conversions are about 20 to 30 bucks and full cluster change look to be around 150, but thats from the other cars he's done. You can have it change color when vtec engauges! Cool mod. Here are some of the designs he's done for the Toyota Community. You can also see them on his site. Here are the video links

I think we should have 04/05 and 06 TSX guys do this since the 04 gauges are different than the 06. But his email address is Sean@LEDmod.com he is the founder and owner.

I don't know anything about Toyota's... Valve lift = Toyota's VTEC?
and that is pretty sweet... I would love if I could just change the gauge light to a different color completely. Purple would be pretty sick...

VVT-i, or Variable Valve Timing with intelligence, is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Toyota. The Toyota VVT-i system replaces the Toyota VVT offered starting in 1991 on the 4A-GE 20-Valve engine. The VVT system is a 2-stage hydraulically controlled cam phasing system.
VVT-i, introduced in 1996, varies the timing of the intake valves by adjusting the relationship between the camshaft drive (belt, scissor-gear or chain) and intake camshaft. Engine oil pressure is applied to an actuator to adjust the camshaft position. In 1998, "Dual" VVT-i (adjusts both intake and exhaust camshafts) was first introduced in the RS200 Altezza's 3S-GE engine. Dual VVT-i is also found in Toyota's new generation V6 engine, the 3.5L 2GR-FE V6. This engine can be found in the Avalon, RAV4, and Camry in the US, the Aurion in Australia, and various models in Japan, including the Estima. Other Dual VVT-i engines include the upcoming 1.8L 2ZR-FE I4, which will see implementation in Toyota's next generation of compact vehicles. By adjusting the valve timing, engine start and stop occur virtually unnoticeable at minimum compression, and fast heating of the catalytic converter to its light-off temperature is possible, thereby reducing HC emissions considerably.

I think I'd like it more if it changed colors at redline or had programming capabilities, so it would act as a shift light.
Wait, or here's another thought.
If it changes colors at VTEC then redline (white, blue then red) it would be just like Need for Speed Underground! "Perfect Shift!"
But it is cool, tech wise and visual, but its more just for wow factor. So, props to the guy who invented this.

The IS250 has this in the tach. We had one traded in and I put it through it's paces. In the end, the only thing that impressed me about the car was the ring of orange LED's that lit up when it went to it's second cam profile.
I hate to admit it because I'm typically an "all GO no SHOW" kind of person, but I really like this feature.

I think it looks really cool. Will be neat to see an 04/05 switch. I agree with JTso, seems that it would functionally useful if it changes at a shift point, but then you'd see it for all of a millisecond. So I'm torn as to which I would like more.

I believe once the kit is available you'd be able to use any color LED. I just want someone in the So. Cal. area to get ahold of him and get it started. He'll probably just have a instruction manual on how to install it yourself. So Vegas/So.Cal guys, please email him if you want this mod for us! LEDmod.com

It would be cool if we could change the blue rings around our gauges to red, but I think that would be real hard to accomplish without the red light bleeding out onto other things.

Haha that was pretty cool, I thought "oh gawd here's another RICE product" but that's actully pretty neat, i like it. I think I'd just want the ring to change color on our 05, and since it's A/T we're not really redlining the engine anyways..
