I recently purchased an 07 TSX 6 speed about 10 days ago. I love the car, but I am unsure about something. I live in Ohio and it has been pretty cold the last few days. Between -5 and 15 degrees consistently. I have felt like there is some stickiness in the gears- especially first and second. Does anyone else have the same problem? I took it to the dealership and they drove the car and said there was no problem with it. Now I am wondering if it is just my imagination, but it requires more effort to put the car into first, even at a dead stop. I thought that I was just not finding the gate correctly, but I do know how to drive a manual and I have not had this problem before.

Any ideas as to what is going on here? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Cold weather is probably causing the transmission fluid to get thicker. Once you get moving and the transmission has had a chance to build up some heat, it should be fine.

yep that's normal for all manual trannies.

The transmission is also brand new. It takes them a few thousand miles to loosen up a little.

Tranny is just like the engine, it needs to warm up, too. Perfectly normal.
