Climate Control

Here's an interesting one....

Driving to work this morning... kinda chilly... maybe 5 degrees C... 45 degrees F...

I had the AUTO setting off. I had set only the vents - floor and dash - no fan - which usually only gives you outside fresh air.

But, I had heat coming from the vents. Any ideas why that would happen?

Your temperature was probably set relatively high. Check that first.

I was actually going to post about this:

1. If you are in AUTO mode, is there anyway to see if the air conditioner is running or not?

2. If you use the NO A/C (or AC off) button, is that the same as AUTO, just no compressor?

Unless I'm missing something, they really seem to dumb-down the climate control. I had auto climate in my last car (02 Toyota Solara (Camry coupe), and it let you see what the fan speed was, which vents air were being directed to, and whether the A/C was on or not. The AUTO mode should just control this automatically, I don't think it needs to hide that information (maybe this should be in the "What I don't like..." thread.

If you dont have the air on "recirculate" the vent coming from the outside will be open. THen when you drive it will have a ramair effect and there will be airflow into your cabin.

I love the climate control!! Plus if you dont want to use it and you want to see the fan speed and where it is being vented from. Hit the Mode button or w/e it is and adjust everything yourself. Like someone else said. Make sure it says A/C off if you dont want it on.

If you have NAVI... (but I'm guessing you don't), for question 1 - press your A/C button and at the top of your screen it will show you if the A/C is on or off. If you don't have NAVI, I have no clue.

2. If you have it on AUTO and then press NO A/C - yes you have the AUTO feature and your a/c is off.

I got NAVI because I knew that I would be mixed up because of all the features and my husband told me that he had one request for the TSX and it was that it had to have NAVI.
