Clear Bra, Pittsburgh Area

I just got a quote for 3M Clear Bra protection in my area. For the fenders, mirrors, bumper, hood, headlights and foglights (with thicker material on the lights), the quote was right around the $600 mark. There are two hood coverage options, with the 24" option about $70 higher than the 18".

I'm having it done this Thursday - my TSX is a month old and I already found a tiny little paint chip (ok, so no one else seems to be able to see it, but I know it is there!)

The installer is 3M certified and does all installs at your location of choice (my garage, in this case). She travels all over Western PA and Eastern Ohio.

I'll post reviews/pics on Friday.

Thanks,
Todd

Just a quick update:

Installation was today - took about 2 hours. Looks GREAT on my silver TSX. Highly recommend this installer (www.impactautoarmor.com). Completely invisible, except where the hood piece ends, 24" back, and then only when you are inches away. I tried to photograph it, but it didn't show up

Thanks,
Todd

Think they'd have an installer in eastern PA? Think they do tinting?

Headlights/foglights really worth protecting?

This dealer doesn't do tint (I asked). The headlights and fog lights can be nicked by rocks, too. Plus, they can eventually get hazy from small micro scratches (though this would take years - took 7 for my old Civic to show this).

Found a travelling installer in the orlando area with 3 stars of volume from www.xpel.com. 5 yr warranty doesn't sound awful and if he'll tint while he's there -- i'm so game!

Todd - I assume that you're talking about Karen...Did she work with you on price at all? The quote I got, once I subtracted the cost of the 3M film is $325 for labor...a lot for 3 hours of work. Thanks.

Yep, that's her. I didn't negotiate the price (as far as I can remember), as I thought it was in line with other quotes I had seen. A year later, and that stuff is still sticking strong.

DO NOT get it on your fog lights if you use them often. The film burns (mine did).

I've had the 3M clear bra on my TSX hood, fender, mirrors, headlights and fogs for 13 months. I haven't seen any burning on the fogs with the 3M film. I have the OEM bulbs in the fog lights, they are always on with the headlights, and I drive about 15-20% of the time at night.
