Cincinnati/Surrounding Area Buying Experience

I've been following this forum for a while now (thanks for all of the great information) and am finally getting ready to pull the trigger on an '06 5AT Non-Navi here in the Cincinnati area. Unfortunately, there are only 2 dealers in the area so there is not alot I can do as far as playing the two off of each other to get the best price. Therefore, I'm also going to contact dealers in Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis, Lexington, and Louisville which should increase my chances at getting a better deal. I'm looking to pay as close to invoice as possible and I know alot of people around the country are getting that based on the posts in this forum.

I know I've spoken with a few of you already via PM, but if there are any others out there that have worked with dealers in any of these cities I'd be interested in the following information.

1. What dealer did you work with and who was your salesperson?
2. How did the deal go down (emails, face to face negotiation, etc...)
3. What type of car did you purchase and how much did you pay OTD?
4. Was this a good experience for you?
5. Any tips you might have regarding the buying experience in general (it's been way too long since I've driven a new car)

If you'd rather not post, please feel free to PM me.

Thanks!

1. Superior (now at Columbia) I forget his name
2. Face-to-face
3. 2004 (in June 2003) and I was $28 something OTD with a few accessories
4. Irrelevant. Wasn't too much dealing that early on
5. Get your data together on other dealership. Dayton is a great place to go to b/c they are hungry up there for sales.

Buy from the place that gives you the best price because the service in the area is all the same.

1. What dealer did you work with and who was your salesperson?
Columbia Acura, the salesman was Larry Pope

2. How did the deal go down (emails, face to face negotiation, etc...)
Email and one trip to the dealer for a spin in a demo.

3. What type of car did you purchase and how much did you pay OTD?
I can't remember as it is was a business purchase, I'll check as I have the same car (5AT non-navi)

4. Was this a good experience for you?
Yes, the dealer recognized the fact that I knew what I wanted and just wanted to get on with the sale, no haggling or comments about needing $150 car mats

5. Any tips you might have regarding the buying experience in general (it's been way too long since I've driven a new car)
Take your time, and sleep on it. (your decision, not the car!)

You should go to Columbia and talk to Andy face to face. I'm not sure if telling him I sent you out there would help much but he discounts as much as he can (more than the dealership wants him to anyway) if you're upfront and honest with him, and if don't try any of those screw-the-dealer tricks. The price he put on the table was way below what we were first expecting.
