Cheap cargo net (photos)

xizor asked me if I had any photos of the cargo net that I'd installed and I do, so I threw together a quick web page for it. This is not the OEM net obviously, it's just a plain Bell brand SUV cargo net clipped to the stock anchors with some aluminum carabiner-type gear clips. Please excuse the poor quality pix - call me Mr. Shakycam...

Here's how it looks (click for larger image):

Here is the web page with more details:

I'm sporting a rubbermaid container with bungie (sp?) cords holding it in place. Total cost <$10.

I was going to say "Canadians rule!!!" but then I doubted my memory of you mentioning your Canadian citizenship AND there's no hope in hell of me decoding your location coordinates.

CANADIANS RULE!!!

Don't doubt your Canadian instincts! Of course you could always use MapQuest to decode my mystery: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/latlong.adp

Cool.

You live in a polluted lake...I'm guessing you're Aquaman then

My guess would be Mississauga somewhere. I thought the plate on that BMW had to be ONTARIO, which is very similar to our plate when seen from a distance...white:P

Thanks for the compliments. I find the net does just what I need it to and the price was right. That is also a Rubbermaid toolbox in the net. I think so, anyway. Another $7 CanTire bargain.

To continue the thread-jacking, Toporama is a great way to look up Canadian maps. I use the topos and the orthos with my GPS and mapping software.

Dan, does any of this look famiiar? It's a Toporama Ortho-image of your location.

So, we now have the map and your co-oordinates. Do you feel like a target yet?

that is one cool mod

i saw this thread last night
and i installed it today! heheh

great thread! thanks for sharing

however, i noticed that the hooks might cause some scratchs
to the plastic cover in the middle of the trunk (bumper side)
so i used some tape to cover the area that might be damaged...

i just have a cheapo toolbox from target in my trunk with a bungee cord holding it against the back of the trunk. i have one of those foil solar shades between the box and the plastic on the trunk (so it doesn't get scratched). a good use for a solar shade that i never use. heh

Time to see if a couple of JDAM's will fit under that cargo net. Nice job.

I have bungees running across the D-rings, with a plastic bin from Ikea nestled against one side, and a couple of collapsable bins on the other.
