changing interior dome lights

I was thinking about changing the interior dome lights to white and was wondering what you guys thought of it/your experiences of it.

The thing I know I want to do for sure is swap out my trunk light with a super-bright white bulb, but as for the inside I'm curious if using the super-bright bulbs would be too bright.

I've got eurolite bright whites in my TSX. I like them so much better than the stock bulbs - very clean and bright looking...

In a black empty trunk, there's not much to "see". But as you put stuff in, it looks really nice with a blue glow. Cost $11 online. (Any blue fluorescent/neon for a computer will work, since they share 12v connections.)

I was wondering how did you mount it and connect the power to it? Did you splice the power cable for the trunk light?

I mounted it using those plastic connectors that people use to hold wires together. I forgot the name... It's tied to the trunk door springs.

Yes, I spliced the cable to the trunk light (you can see in the first pic, the OEM light is off). Make sure that if you do this, to remove the fuse for the lights while you work on it. I burned the fuse on 2 TSXs doing this, as well as my brother's GTI. Those wires come together very easily... after that, you'll need the radio codes to turn the radio back on.

Ic.. so in your set-up you completely removed the oem light from your trunk right? And do you remember the location of the fuse to disconnect?
