Changes in TSX 2005

I'm debating whether I should get this year's model or a used one.

Does anyone have a list of things that changed in TSX 2005? Here's what I found out so far:
- Navi now available in Canada
- Illuminated steering wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls

Anything else different from last year's model?

4 way Power Passenger seat.
Heated Mirrors - new for the 05's in the US, Canada already had this in the 04's.
XM Satellite - US has this new for 05, not sure about Canada though.

I think there are new colors available in the 05 models for Canada, but not sure what they are, I think Carbon Grey for 05.

The US got Milano red with ebony interior new for 05.

You can add heated mirrors, a 4-way power passenger seat and standard XM (you still have to pay the monthly fee) to the list. There are no changes in the mechanicals.

Canadians had heated mirrors in 04.

Well, like they said - some new colors for 05 in Canada (a carbon gray like color, Artic blue Pearl, and the NBP now comes with a choice for the interior color - black or tan), some colors have also disappeared (Indigo Blue Pearl - or 'blurple', and no more Red).
+Steering wheels control ilumination
+Power passenger seat
+$ for auto tranny (I think this is correct)
+$$$ for optional Navi in Canada
No XM for canucks

So if you don't care for these additions and options, and can find a color that you like in an 04, then you may be able to save some $ - although a casual look at autotrader reveals only a limited selection right now (15 cars for Ontario)

Really? Did they just raise the AT price by $1200 from what it was in 04 or was there any offset to the MT price (e.g. did they split the difference or something).

It always irked me to pay a premium for the MT (e.g. same cost as an AT) when the AT has significantly higher manufacturing and maintenance costs.

So, here's a summary on what everyone's gotten so far. Changes on TSX 2005 are:
- Availability of some new colors (Canada and US)
- Navi (Canada)
- Heated mirrors (US)
- Illuminated steering wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls (Canada and US)
- Power passenger seat (Canada and US)
- Standard XM radio (US)

Anything else that I missed?

I don't think the Canadian spec TSX has the illuminated steering wheel controls. At least it's not listed on the spec sheet...

Hmmm, I presumed it did.

All Acura Canada mentions under specs is

"Steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls"

You figure it would be easier for them to manufactuer one sterring wheel? So it makes no sense to leave them out, just like it made no sense to leave out heated mirrors in the US for 04.

I think exactly the opposite. I'm glad my passenger seat isn't power. Doesn't need to be. Heck, since there is no seat memory function, I kinda wish my driver's seat wasn't power either. What's the point of a power seat if it doesn't have the seat memory function...

I'm pretty sure it does ... saw one live, and the buttons were black like the TL, which I assume means they are illuminated.

Do the 05 USDM TSX's have the low windshield washer fluid light? Why the 04's didn't have this is beyond me...

And the USDM 04's also had a smaller washer tank.

I totally agree. It's stupid Acura didn't incorporate it the TSX espcially since they feature would have only increased the cost of the car like $10.

I disagree. Memory seats would be nice to have, but what happens if you have more than 2 drivers? Then the 3rd one would still need to adjust his/her seating manually, and this is where power seating comes in place.

I don't understand how power seating makes big difference in this situation? I find it easier to set a seat mechanically than to sit there for 10 minutes fiddling with the controls to find the same position again.

I don't think the average consumer would typically have any more than two adults (like a husband and wife) sharing a vehicle.

I think that the 05 also has those little signal arrows on the driver and passenger windows. Not the one facing oncoming traffic but the ones that the drive can see from the inside of the car.

Whose says memory can only be for two?

Who says memory seats are for two? Our A-6 quattro, as did my S-6, has memory buttons for three drivers, plus the passenger seat has three memory settings that are independent and do not change mirror &etc. settings. PLUS the passenger seat adujusts in as many modes as the drives seat. Acura really misses the boat on that one, even the new RL is restricted to a 4 way front passenger. I really miss the seat bottom rake setting on the passenger seat when my wife takes over the driving on long trips.

Didn't the 2004 have Mirrors with Integrated Turn Signals? I didn't think that was new for 2004.

I think this means the turn signal arrows which are integrated from the inside of the mirrors, not the LED from the outside.

So does this mean the TSX 2005 has both the LED on the outside and the light arrow on the inside of the mirror?

I surely love the availability of Wipers-Variable Speed in the new TSX.

My 2004 has it, so yours must too. It lit up for me the other day. I looked for it in the manual or the quick reference but at least one of them had no mention of that light. It does exist though.

I looked at one in the dealership and it now has the black buttons with white writing, so I'm 99% sure they're illuminated.

Are you serious, so now you see your own mirror signals? I'm really glad my 2004 doesn't have it, I think it would annoy the hell out of me if I was changing lanes and I was trying to see if there's a car in my blind stop, but my own flasher would interfere with visibility. I always thought the way the mirror signal is hidden from the driver is a plus, unlike in Mercedes or Chryslers.

Mine has it but it's a Canadian spec model. I was wondering if the USDM market cars had it because they didn't last year.

adjusting a manual seat takes energy away from more important tasks in life...... all that cranking and guesswork - exhausting.

I kind of like how the passenger seat is manual. I never use it, and when I clean under the seat, it takes 1 second to move it all the way back.

Another difference not mentioned is that when you press "lock" the second time on the remote, the '04 honks, and the '05 beeps.

My '05 (USA model) does not have turn indicator arrows on the mirror side of the side mirrors.

Where does the beep come from? The FOB key?

I'm not sure if the 2005 Canadian TSX has the turn indicator arrows on the mirror side. Can someone verify this?
