Change colors for Side mirror turn indicators

I searched for anything on changing the colors for the sideview turn indicators but cant find anything on it. I think the yellow lights look kinda cheesy and was wondering if anybody changed the color for it and how they did it with some pics. I was thinking of just swapping it out to a white. Any input or opinions are welcome.

soon grasshopper, soon.

The aftermarket for TSX crap will get bigger when there is a larger demand.

side turn signal is not a must have item, so it won't be illegal with any color.

I think the lights on the mirror would look cooler if they were blue.

Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't the mirror turn-indicators lit by LED?

Yes, they are. You can tell just by how they blink. They don't fade out like normal bulbs do. It's either on/off...just like the HID's.

I think would be illegal with red or blue. Aftermarket driving lights aren't a "must-have" item either, but that doesn't mean you can legally have them in any color.

I agree. Although I haven't found the Dept. of Transportation Law yet, I'm pretty certain any direction indicating light must be by law colored amber/yellow just as any brake light must be colored red.

HID are never on or off... they take more time to warm up then a standard light bulb... an LED has really no comparison to a bulb.

Devo is correct.

in general applications, i.e., screw-in HID bulbs (metal halide, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium, et all) , the warm up time is like 10-20 minutes before full brightness is achieved.

I assume the car HIDs are different though, and power up (brighten up) quicker somehow.

I'm not sure where the break point is, but I think all turn signals located forward of the front doors (front turn signals, side markers, and/or mirror housing turn signals like ours), facing forward, must be amber. And after that (rear turn signals, and/or turn signals on the mirror like those on Ford Expedition) can be red or amber.

Turn signals in the front of the car by USDOT law says Amber or White, the rear only Amber or Red, any other color besides those is illegal

front facing turn signals: amber or white
rear facing turn signals: amber or red
front & side sidemarkers: amber
rear sidemarkers: red

any other color is illegal, just depends on the enforcement by your local authority.

Pretty much all of PIAA lights are illegal except for their 9000 series.

This would make sense..my boss has a GMC with the turn signal on the mirror facing back and they are red... I like the red, but am assuming that would not work on the TSX's front facing signal..

The side mirror turn signal lights are LED's and you can not change them. I had one out and they are a sealed unit. If anyone knows something I missed then there is not much you can do with it but to change the whole lens unit for a different color
