Question CG/Ebony

I think I may be out of the loop on this, but is getting the the TSX with CG/Ebony hard? It seems like everyone keeps talking about seeing a CG on the road? Is this just my imagination?

I have it, and from what we've seen on here, it seems to be one of the most popular combos. Hard to get? I don't know, probably depends a lot on where you are. Over here, at the very beginning, CG and Black were the only two exterior colors that were available in the first batch.

Usually about 40% of tsx drivers bought the carbon grey. 35-40% bought the normal SSM silver. And the rest are whatever colors.

Finalheaven is too modest to do this himself, so I guess I'll just have to do it.

Here's his 3-D "pie-chart" showing the proportions of the exterior colors of TSX for people on this site (pretty neat, eh?):

I was interested in this color combo as well, and the dealer told me it would be 90 days to get one in the Ohio/Western Pennsylvania area. I could have gotten CG/Quartz earlier than that, but I had to have the ebony interior. So, I decided to get the second most popular exterior color, satin silver, and cut my wait down to 45 days. You can't go wrong with either color, IMO.

3-D pie charts misrepresent data because it makes it look like some sections are larger then they are and others are less important and smaller then they are

I just ordered a CG/ Ebony, 5AT No Navi last night. I'm in the Chicago area and I think I may have gotten lucky getting the Ebony interior. The dealers around here seem to get a bunch of the CG/Quartz... One salesperson told me lasy week that he could get me from on a dealer trade from Ohio. That never happened so I took my deposit back, got on the phone and found the one I really wanted. I'm expecting mine to come in next week, and I'm surprised that no body else bought it before me. I kept hearing that if I wated the CG/ Ebony I'd have to wait at least 2 months for it.

By the way, anybody actually get theirs on a 'dealer trade'? I'm new on the board, but why would and any other dealer give up a high demand car to someone else?? The sales people always talk about someone 'owing them a favor' of course. But we all know that involves a pay off somewhere along the way.

JaTe -- I could never wait that long. I would have hooked up with a Silver/Ebony or the Black/Ebony. But you also got the 6MT which seems rarer too.

I'm in the philly area. There was a dealer that actually has the CG/Ebony, but would only discount $300, so I passed. Where I did order my car from, it was going to take until the end of sept. I decieded to go with black!!!!

PICKIN UP TONIGHT!!!!

Good Luck!

Who around Chicagoland had a bunch of CG/Quartz? I ended up doing an online trade at Continental Acura. I waited a month and a half for my car to come in and I was lucky.

You coming to the TSX meet in Schaumburg?

FH...Why is the CG slice in the front and SSM in the back? And why didn't this include interior/exterior slices? And why does it look more like cheesecake than pie? And why is it labeled "choices" when you clearly mean "preferences"?

I've got a Carbon Grey/Ebony/6-sp/Non in stock right now. We are seeing that Carbon Grey/Quartz is the harder one to get out here. I dunno about other dealers.

Have your dealer call one of the texas dealers. They each seem to have a Carbon Grey car on hand.

What I said was that getting it with the quartz interior was more difficult to get, not that they don't have any availability.

Did you get the 6-speed one or the auto? If you got the 6-sp, that was only the second one we've gotten. It's a unique combo.

Jason -- when I was shopping the past two weeks, there was one CG/ Quartz 5AT no Nav on the lot at McGrath in Westmont. Then the dealer in Lisle also had one that was CG/ Quartz but it had Navi and I didn't want that one. I also bumped into one last night at Joe Rizza in Orland Park. Theirs had a spoiler, ground effect and fog lights. The only other color that I've seen it in other the CG is the Black.

Not sure if I'm going to have mine delivered by the 16th for the Chicago TSX fest... Mine is due in on the 14th, but it might take a little longer. If I have mine in -- I'm there. I used to work right by Woodfield Mall so I know just where you'll be at.
