I have a blue car right now.. I never saw the CG as blue.. let me try real hard next time.Originally Posted by dabuda2004
interesting how some ppl feel strongly that its either blue or grey...maybe i'm colorblind because i never thought it looked bluish, i've had two blue cars before and they didn't look anything like the CG!
Everyday Joe
I just picked up my SSM TSX today
From the time I saw the TSX I was going to get CG, but it kept looking blueish in way too many angles. Both my father and wife thought the same thing. I ended up getting the SSM b/c I did not like the blue look and was sure that I would get tired of it too soon. So, I took the safe route and went with silver. I do like that the SSM is very metallicay...
Anthracite (like on the TL) would have been my top choice, bar none. Beautiful, beautiful color...just like the color on the Lexus IS300 (graphite grey pearl)

carbon gray is just hard to clean, too bad there wasn't a maroon or rust orange color that Nissan/Infiniti uses.
Safety Car
Another generation (mine) would have referred to the carbon grey as "gunmetal", a grey/blue color usually used to describe the metallic blue/grey of gun barrels. The blue vs the grey will be influenced by the light on a given day/time of day/season. That "flexibility" of response to light is enhanced by the "pearl" finish, which gives the paint some depth without being metallic. Under some light conditions, the finish reads as a "pure" grey, in others, it appears to be quite blue. The pearl finish, which gives the paint some depth but not the metallic sheen of a "metallic" finish, will enhance the subtle reaction of light to the car's color.
After three weeks and 2,200 miles, I think the cgp actually hides dust and road grime rather well. But then my last car was black, and showed everything. Days it looked filthy ten minutes after leaving the detailing shop, and parking lot dings looked like the car had been attacked by hammers.
At night, I rely on the fact that the rear looks like a Christmas tree and the front has headlamps that can't be missed. Without the lights on, I suppose it would blend into the highway.

Damn.. this thread is very interesting. I honestly thought CGP is sort of blue, but more grey than blue.
Cruisin' the Azine's
The CGP shares the same blue (pearl) paint pigments that the black and white color does. For the most part, the CG car is a grayish color in the shade and normal light. However under flouresent and bright sunlight, it appears to have a blueish hue to it. I've noticed the same thing with my NBP. When I was shopping, I really wanted a metallic gray or black. Since the gray wasn't metallic...well, I went with black.

First time I saw the color it was bright outside and it looked kind of bluish to me (and two other people).

I've got a CGP. Some people have asked me the color. When I tell them Carbon Grey Pearl...they go...'Grey? That looks blue to me.' I took some pics of it the other day in the sun - and it looks bluish in the pics. I really think it has to do with what kind of ambient light is around. Sunshine/clouds/street lights, etc...
Oh well, I still like it - and that's what really matters.

That's why it's called carbon. Carbon has tints of blue, but the predominant color is grey.

I really wanted the CG, but opted for NHBP because I wouldn't have had to wait 3 months to take delivery. I test drove the CG, and didn't think it looked blue at all...although based on posts in this thread, I noticed in retrospect that it was overcast that day too.

Holy Resurected thread batman!
But seriously I still contest that CG is the best color.. but nobody else should get it so I can be uber cool

after owning the TSX since Dec. 03, still feel like CG is the best color, but disappointed Acura didn't put an anarchite type color that is on the TL for the TSX, which would be my preferred color.

I have NBP, and in some light I can see the blue in the paint of the NBP. When I saw the CG on the lot in the sun, it looked really blue. I was dissapointed, because that was the color I wanted, but I ended liking the NBP with the parchment interior better. Each to their own with the color. I just wish that other guy with the black TSX in my town would trade it in for anything else. I thought I was the only one... Maybe Acura should offer CLEAR as a color... Like Wonder Woman's jet.... Hmmmm, Wonder Woman....

Alright folks, I don't mean to jack this thread, but for all of you who have Nighthawk Black Pearl, this is for you. The day before I traded in my NBP RSX-S, I was out in the garage taking random pictures of it. When I loaded the pics onto my PC and started looking at them, I was startled to see this:Originally Posted by stogie1020

I've noticed under parking lot lights at night my NBP has a very distinct blue hue. One might think its a navy blue car. During the day, black as wet tar. Must be the pearl.Originally Posted by stogie1020

This paint also shows dirt worse than other balck cars I've owned, but looks even better when clean.

Our 04 accord is a NHB pearl.
Under the light you can actually see the pearl, that's the bluish tint that you see.

personally i think the most eye-catching color on the TSX would be a redish black type of color with black on the base... and dark red (burgandy) over it, so when you look at it at a different angle, it will show dark red.
funny you should say that.... my dad told me he saw my car (accord euro) in that exact colour - he was adament that it wasnt the milano red or that maroon colour that was available in aus for a short time... i wish i had have seen it coz i totally agree... would look amazingpersonally i think the most eye-catching color on the TSX would be a redish black type of color with black on the base... and dark red (burgandy) over it, so when you look at it at a different angle, it will show dark red.
