Decisions, Decision

I can definitely sympthize with you . . . .Just joined the tsx fold last week . . .Picked up a MR/Ebony 5AT . . . .Debated over the color lchoice ong enough that I took advantage of the change in New York's vicarious liability lease law . . . .The black would've probably been my choice if I didn't have black cars for the past 20 years . . . .needed a change . . . .white and silver were to plain . . . the blue wasn't happening and the carbon gray didn't hold the crease line in the front fender the way the other colors did . . . .and you think you're overanalyzing things . . . .Just get the color YOU want and you'll be happy . . . . No matter what color the car comes in it's a blast . . .Happy Motoring . . . .

I was at the dealer's today to buy my Alabaster Silver 06 TSX. Had trouble coming to a price so I haven't bought it yet. (His scribbled down numbers kept changing) but arriving at the dealers I try to sell myself on the graphite pearl. This is my wife's favourite colour and she has been so excellent in not interferring with this purchase. I looked at it and looked at it. Loved it from the front but not from the sides. I also noticed as the sun went down the colour kept changing shades. But I knew that I would not be happy with it.

After leaving the dealer a little frustrated about his high price I started questioning all my decisions, should I get an 05, should I get a manual, should I drop the body kit and just get the spoiler, should I get black.

After anaylizing things at home for awhile I still want the 06, I will drop the body kit and just get the spoiler, but I'm still debating on the manual and black. My midlife crisis side of me says get black and the manual.

For every other new car I have purchased I have known exactly what I wanted right away. This is new territory for me. Maybe fate is telling me something?

Confused and Exicited

Excited,.............come to the dark side,...........and by that I mean BLACK TSK,.HAHAHAHA. I think you should get black w MT just because I have that,.........but thats just my two cents,.....LOL.

Seriously, I know the tough spot you are in,.......you cant make up your mind with what you will be happy with. Are there other dealers that you could go check out and maybe get a better price perhaps? When I was looking for mine,.......lots of different offers were brought up by the dealer. Some of these included giving me an 06 for the same price as an 05 (price we had agreeded upon after arguing for a while),...because they couldnt find the black w MT we wanted amongst the dealers that they traded cars with. I ended up calling like 12 dealers and ended up 45min from my house,...but got the car I wanted at a better price than any other dealer offered. Also got an offer for any accessories we wanted at COST (what dealer pays) if it would seal the deal. If your prices are not too far off on the 2006,......try getting them to throw stuff in at cost,....or at no charge,.......ex, I told them to include a clear bra. If you wanna know what I got off on my 05 let me know and Ill tell you exactly,.....I have only had it in my driveway a few days,........did I mention it was Black?

Mid life crisis has past. I will stay with the AT and silver. In the end I just dropped the body kit for the spoiler. (I would be just as happy with the black and the 6MT)

Now to get a good price!

Sorry for sharing all of my tribulations.

Well I finally did it, ordered an Alabaster Silver 06 TSX with AT, navi, rear spoiler, all weather mats, cargo tray, clear bra (which they call rock guard), rust/pain/leather protection package.

I'm not as great as wheeler dealer than most but I did get almost $900 off MSRP.

I guess now that I have ordered the Alabaster Silver there is only one thing to say:

Alabaster Silver rocks and is absolutely the best colour!!!

(It's kind of lonely at the top) LOL

dude my dad has had it on his MDX for almost a month and a half and whenever it rains all the droplets just run off of the car, they don't stick at all and all you have to do is take a hose to a really muddy area and it comes off and looks like a really good cleaning with a simple spray of water.

it was $500 for 2 layers on the outside and a complete spray on everthing inside, my bro spilt his drink in the back seat and it just rolled onto the all weather floor mats, it was really cool. It lasts 5 years.

The siliver is a winner. I LOVE the look VWong got : http://www.vwong.org/images/tsx/cl9-031.jpg

Someone else in the thread pointed out that the creaselines show up well on the dark colours, but disappear on some of the other colours. I totally agree, and those creaselines are needed!

Especially on the white, which is the colour I ordered (I'm trading off a silver car and didn't want to repeat). The creaseline below the door handles disappears.

For that reason, I added the aero kit (wingless): The skirts change the plane around the bottom of the car, add definition to the shape and take the curse off the slightly too-smooth curves on the doors and pans. To my eye, in white without the aero kit, the car looks a bit nambypamby. Even with the skirts, I don't think it will ever look as good as VWong's: maybe its the window tint!

I'm planning to put 18" MM II+'s on it: http://www.megaperformance.com/catal...41.htm#image_1

The car is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

The White TSX is a terrific looking car and so is the black. Even once I get my Alabaster Silver TSX, I will still look at those coloured TSX's and say that they are great looking cars.

I love the body kit. You have a great looking TSX! I chose not to get the body kit at this time, but maybe later next year.

I keep looking at the vtec site and the pics of the silver TSX and can't wait.

I'm jealous of you that your TSX will arrive tomorrow (today). It will look terrific with the body kit. Congrats in advance.

Vwong's TSX does look super!

i got a black tsx, wash it once a week and it looks great. If youre going to wash it regularly you might as well go for black because it looks better than silver when clean. Plus i find that silver makes the car look a little cheaper if anybody knows what i mean.

Here's some fun: A site that lets you configure an RSX (unfortunately they don't have a TSX mule) in any colour you like, lower it, add different aftermarket wheels (a small selection, but still interesting), big brakes and suspension, and view the car from 4 different angles.

Stunningly realistic imaging program, VERY nicely done.

Smile Baby delivered, baby delivers

I took delivery of a white 5AT with Aero package yesterday, and I'm thrilled. I ordered it without the wing thing, which looks teenagerish to me, but of course it came with the damn thing attached and I can't take it off without leaving holes in the deck lid. A quibble, because the car drives with a split personality, quiet and serene as you want, hot and heavy when you want. Delightful.

Funny, a lot of the things that struck me as "why?" when I was shopping -- like the black interior on a white car -- didn't seem important on the way to work today.

But I noticed this car is NOT noticed -- nobody stares. I remember when I got my 2002 gold RSX everybody stared, and people frequently came up to talk to me about it at gas stations. Interesting. Maybe white cars are invisible.

I've heard that other countries use that as a way of spelling 'color', but it's just a rumour.

Colour is the British (English) spelling. In Canada we spell it colour

Color is the American version

In Boston, when you threw the tea overboard you also threw out some "u's", that is why you are missing some in words like colour, neighbour and henway.

OK OK

Clicking ability will suffice (if spelling is your personal challenge).
