there should be nothing w/r/t to a car's transmission that directly affects the fuel to air mix.
picture on the left means stock air intake picture on the right is CAI. you see how you can breath better with pic on the right, same idea with CAI. When engine breath better it runs faster and sounds cooler when you rev your engine in neutral at a stop light.
Heli please correct me if i didn't interpret your pics correctly

With a CAI, torque gains are obtained 3500rpm and up for the most part. At these rpms, the torque converter is pretty efficient. Enough that the difference should be pretty darn close to that of an MT.
It would be a different story if the power gains were made only below 3000.

sorry I didn't catch that at all...
thanks
somehow I got the impression that CAI is not as effective or useful for AT as it is for MT.

well your engine is more effective when mated to a manual tranny because auto tranny soakes up some power. So in comparison an manual tranny with CAI is goin to perform better then an auto with CAI. but the auto with the CAI is definatly better then before.

Analogy 1: the lady on the right runs faster
Why:
1: The filter looks larger in diameter and more expensive.
2: It has chrome.
3: The lady on right looks happy while the lady on left seems suffocating
4: About 40% of body heat is dissipated through the head. The mask on the right covers only half of her face, allowing heat to dissipate more efficiently. More oxgen to her brain.
5. That black piece covering up to her nose is probably gasket.
Analogy 2: the lady on the left runs faster
Why:
1: Crappy filter = larger spore = more air flow
2: Two intakes is better than one
3: What does full-cover mask say about aerodynamic?
4: Have you seen the movie Resident Evil? She looks "infected" to me.
5: She wears red dress. Red is always faster.
Conclusion: Not enough information is given. The performance of car doesn't depend merely on CAI. And you guys are taking my pictures too seriously.
Auto TSX Dyno with Injen CAI.
4.7 lb-ft and 11.1 HP.
And besides the sound change is well worth the upgrade.
So an Auto TSX with Injen now about equals the output of a Stock 6Sp. This isn't to say its now as fast though.
Them da facts
