break in process

A while back, there was a post about a new way of breaking in. The website where the new process was written by "motoman".
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

While reading through the post, i only read people trying to compare or reason the ideas out. But has anyone actually tried the different break in method? and had a mechanic open up their engine and actually tell them that it's cleaner than the normal engines that he sees?

You're asking a question impossible to answer. Think about the variables over the life of an engine and how insignificant 5k miles are. Any mechanic will tell you that if you use a quality oil, change the oil filter and do this on a regular basis that your engine will last you a long time, unless you beat on it every day. There is no 1 way to get the most life out of you engine and the first 5k miles is not predictor to longevity... sure, you need to follow what the engineers tell you, but it won't reflect the other 95k miles of driving habits on engine wear (using 100k as a benchmark).
