Breaching the Firewall
Breaching the Firewall
Hey guys,
So after searching for a little bit, Ive come across the info that I can run a wire through the firewall into the passenger side through this grommet:

but I really need to run the wire to the drivers side so I can wire a switch into the empty accessory slots next to the steering wheel.
Does anyone know of anyway to do this without drilling holes?

It will look more stock if you drill into an empty switch cover. You can buy a replacement switch cover for $1.95 from Honda or $4.55 from Acura.

First remove the plastic cover under the glove box and once you get the cable through the firewall and to the cabin side you have to remove the plastic cover under the driver side. That way you can route the cable through the back of the center console from the passenger side to the driver's side and then to the accessory slot.
There is a grommet on the driver side - in the area on top of the pedals. Take off the black panel and you can find it - theres a rubber flap piece that you can flap around, the grommet is just behind that.
It's also much easier to run wire through this grommet anyway. I also found it easier to run it from inside out. I ran my 0ga this way -- tape the 0ga to th flat head, poke it through from the cabin side, once its through, hold onto the wire with one hand, and pull the flat head out.. then just keep feeding the 0ga through until you can touch it on the other side.
It's hard to do it the other way around because the grommet is behind the wheel well area; all the way in the corner.
