Question Brakes

Hello all, I have a question for anyone who's familiar with the 3 series or '04 TL. I bought my TSX 13 months ago and absolutely love it, however, the rumbling brakes are driving more and more crazy as the days pass. I've had them repeatedly looked at, but have always gotten the stock answer "we test drove others on our lot and they all do the same thing...it's a TSX/ABS thing". Anyway, I guess I was just so charmed by everything else about the car when I test drove it that I didn't notice the rumbling feel when I applied the brakes.

Has anyone here had the same issue and has anyone driven a 3-series or the new TL? Do they do the same "thing"?

Thanks!

I don't have the problem you mentioned, but maybe you need your rotors refaced?

I usually downshift to 'engine brake' as much as possible; Brake rotors/pads are expensive. And I would have the keep the car past 100k miles before the clutch or tranny quits (hopefully).

EDIT: Both the 04 TL and 3-series have vastly superior brakes compared to the TSX. Most minivans have a better stopping distance than the TSX. Oh well.

I have driven all three but only dipped into ABS in a 3 series. The thing is how often are you activating ABS? You should only be doing it in panic stops and they SHOULD be rare. You should be able to feel ABS in the pedal very easily, if you aren't getting the sound only when in panic stop mode, it isn't the ABS.

Vandy

PS TSX Hokie an engine, clutch or tranny is a lot more expensive than rotors and pads... poor economics
