Brake Squeal Bulletin

It seems as though some of the websites that display service bulletins need to update their databases more often! I returned from the dealer the other day after getting my 16000 KM service done. I mentioned the constant brake squeal that I was experiencing at the time as well. The dealer replaced the front brake pads with revised units that, to quote the service bulletin that I was presented with upon picking up the car, are "noise counter-measured". The bulletin states that if a customer complains of brake squeal and owns a TSX up to VIN JH4CL968X4C803035, the original brake pads (part code NF86) should be replaced with the revised ones (part code NF87). All cars manufactured after the above stated VIN have the revised brake pads installed from the factory. For your information, the bulletin number is "VI-1-04". It was issued February 16, 2004. I've heard a fair number of complaints about brake squeal from the forums, so for all those with constant brake squeal, this could very well be your solution.

Excellent info. Tony, you may want to notice this seems to be a Canadian bulletin since VIN series 8xxxxxx are Canadian VINs.

Not trying to hijack, but is there a good site to find all of the TSBs for the TSX?

I found this one:

http://www.alldata.com/TSB/01/04013446.html

But the brake pads aren't listed, in fact there are no 2004 TSBs.

Just one noob wondering about the future..........

Hmmm, brake squeal.

I had it for a few weeks about a month after I bought my car, but even then it was only when the car was relatively cold.

I haven't had a squeal in months. (knock on particleboard)

rep points delivered, as per jlukja's suggestion
