Brake dust and wheels

How is the brake dust on these cars? Just curious...the brake dust was so bad with my previous set of pads that I replaced them all with ceramics. I know I'll be in agony if the wheels will looks like Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep rims after 2-3 days. Input? Comments?

If you do a car wash about once a month you'll be fine.
I'm willing to bet most of the car nuts here wash at least once a week. They probably dont see any brake dust.

That's good. I wash my Focus about once a week, depending on the weather. I think the longest I've ever gone was 3 weeks. Good to hear though. Hoping the wheels won't pit either...

i've heard some folks apply a coat of wax on the rims to prevent the brake dust to "stick" onto the rim, i guess it helps when it comes to cleaning the rims down...

hmmmm not a bad idea... I do it to the headlight covers to stop the bugs but never thought to do it to my rims. All in all though the TSX doesnt put out too much dust. Its not like we have a VW/Audi...

TSX OEM brake pads are ceramics. Brake dust is reasonnable, although it will greatly depend on your driving habits.

The brakes have the potential of lasting for over 100k miles on the original stuff, but they can also be very short-lived if used the wrong way.

That's excellent. I have had my ceramics on my car for about 2 years now and after 37,000 miles they still have over 60% pad left...still going strong

I don't ever seem to notice a heavy accumulation of brake dust on my TSX. I drive my car daily too with a 32mi. trek to and from work on the highway.

But, then again, I do wash my car literally every week w/a spit shine in between
