Brake Calipers? How do i paint them

Hey guys I just recently purchased a 2007 Acura NightHawk Black TSX. For some reason the brake caliper is like rusted.. but not like orange rust. Its like whiteish. Is there any way i can paint the caliper my self to prevent this rusting stuff?

in a nutshell youll need... a few cans of brake parts cleaner... a wire brush. maybe a scotch-brite pad ( depending on how ambitious you are) and a few cans of Duplicolor ultra high heat paint... good to 1200 degrees. i prefer low gloss black, but the color choice is yours. hope that helps

I had them powder coated on my Corvette. It's only about $200 and they look good for a long time.

Yea you gotta take off your wheels theres no other way to paint them.
Get duplicolor or high temp paint at autozone or pep boys.

get brillo pads and and some other steel wool too clean the brakes
give it a good clean helps the paint alot.

Then tape up with newspaper whatever your afraid of to spray.

About 3-4 coats let it dry 20 min each.

Reference owners manual on how to change a flat...or do a google search. It is much easier if you have a hydraulic jack. It will take forever using the manual jack in the trunk.

well i know nothing about cars so maybe I will save some money and let the acura dealership do it.. I kind of want the caliper to say "ACURA" on it.. that would be awesome!

Ok...first off...save money and acura stealership DO NOT go together!! EVER! You will never save money by having the stealership do something that is relatively easy for you to do on your own!
Second...learn about your car! Learn by doing simple mods like painting your brake calipers. Don't be a car snob!
Use the advice that you have gotten on this forum and do some research of your own and paint the darn calipers! Then you can never say that you don't know ANYTHING about cars.

Oh, and it's called a jack...NOT a "like lifter thing"! Now you're learning about cars.
