Yes, it mutes the stereo, and the call plays over the speakers. People who I've called all can hear me clearly, and they're surprised when I explain to them how I'm speaking to them lol

I think it's worth it. A new bluetooth phone can be had for under $100 on Ebay or craigslist. I also got a new phone specifically for the HFL, and I think it was worth it, even though I don't use it a whole lot. I always hated jiggling around in my pockets for my phone while driving, and this solves it. And all my friends are impressed by the quality and don't realize how I'm speaking to them until I tell them. So far they haven't noticed the difference between using hte HFL, and when I get home and switch to handset.

Also if you have nav it's integrated with the HFL, so you can hit "Call" on the screen and it'll call the business you're looking at if you need to find out hours or reservation times.

Thumbs up word

I use it all the time. It was one of the reasons I wanted a 06. It sounds good from what i hear. People can still tell you are using some kind of hands free device, but it works great!

The bluetooth is awesome. It's definitely worth the expense of getting the phone.

It's so amazing, and very natural, you don't even think about it... I also use it all the time...

the only thing that sucks is that incoming calls show up as numbers on the dash but you can't program names or anything so you don't really know who's calling you unless you look at your phone or know peoples phone numbers off by heart...

I agree...first couple of days, I didn't answer phone calls because I didn't know who they were lol. With today's technology, I just put people phone numbers into my cell phone without memorization. No more looking through a planner/phone book often (and eventually getting used to the numbers).

Although now I've set up my phone so that when I'm in the car, it uses a special profile...and that profile only lets certain people call me (family/friends). If it won't ring, then it mustn't be important enough for me to answer while driving

Bluetooth integration is a godsend. I love being able to take calls without having to fumble with a headset or the phone.

Use it everyday. I had to upgrade phones when I bought the car just to take advantage of it, I highly suggest you do the same.

Yes.....bluetooth rocks! I got a bluetooth capable cell phone a week ago and it works pretty good on my TSX. I have an LG LX-350 from Sprint.

I have a BT fone, but also want my TomTom to have access to the phone for updates and maps, etc. Can you use two BT devices at the same time?

My phone has a powersave feature which allows itself to be limited to one BT device only. So I assume with the powersave feature off, you can.

The last time I read about bluetooth, they were talking about how a device comes within reach, it can automatically access the bluetooth devices around it (which implied plurality)

Can you guys list the bluetooth phones you are using with your TSX? I recently bought a TSX and am looking at phones now but I am unsure how well each works with the car.
Thanks!

I love the Bluetooth feature. Was one of the big selling points about the 06 TSX. I didn't use it for the first few months as I didn't have a phone with bluetooth, then my contract came up for renewal and I got a RAZR. Its easy to set up and works great as I never miss a single call as the car tells me when I have an incoming call. I can hear everyone I call really well, but people at the other end sometimes have a hard time hearing me if I'm travelling on a freeway. Numerous times I have had to raise my voice so they can hear me. Plus I have various black out spots in my area due to canyons and the bluetooth connection is always a little weaker.

I love the call feature that is connected to the Navi as you can call a restaurant ahead of time and put your name in for a table which comes in very handy in busy So Cal.

Talking

Blue Tooth works well. The only variaiton I've found is if the phone signal is weak--but this would be true without Blue Tooth. This weekend four of us were in my car talking to my sister--it was great. Plus--the driver had both hands on the wheel!!

It works great. I left my phone in the house once and the call went to my car while I was working on installing my comptech sway bar, lol. It scared the heck out of me. I ended up talking to my buddy on the phone from the bottom of my car. It's pretty cool I recommend it

I have the LG VX9800 and its a great BT phone. Only problem is that I have an '04, so Im going to be getting an aftermarket BT system in my car. I do use a BT headset while driving now and even that is so much better then having a wire dangling. Its great with voice recognition too.

I inquired abt that when i had my 04 TSX. It costs about 400 bucks to have the blue tooth thing installed in your car. Car-Toys or some car place in your city should be able to do that

Use it all the time, its amazingly clear. Just returned from the beach the other day, and left my phone in the trunk. While my friends were searching for thier phones in the mess inside the trunk, i was standing watching them, coz i knew, that i will receive a call via bluetooth if anyone called. So i did not look for my phone for the entire drive of about 6 hours, and still made and received calls.
Its awesome. One of the reasons I traded my 04 for an 06.

It is defiantly worth the money to get a blue tooth phone to use with it. I use mine all the time and just to repeat I do find that it is surprisingly clear.

Later

undoubtedly my favorite feature of the car...so much better than a headset and it definitely helps with keeping your concentration on the road...sound quality is excellent and i haven't had any problem with the other party understanding me...if anything, they don't even realize they're on handsfree most of the time...definitely time for you to trade up for a bluetooth phone!

To add BT to your older TSX, is it the same system the 06 uses? Will Acura dealers do it?

BT is one of the best features of this car and you can pair more than one phone to work with your car (of-course they will not work at the same time). It works great and it was one of the first things I setup after I got my car last Friday.

Its definitely worth buying a BT phone if you have the BT feature in your car, but I would suggest keeping your BT phone invisible before you are bluejacked!
