Post blue ambience light in the TSX?

I am thinking about getting a TSX and have driven it during the day. I wanted to test drive the '04 TL (1000X sweater than the '02 TL that I own!!) It was nigh when I drove it. It had the coolest 2 blue lights that shined down from the ceiling (above the mirror). It hit the Stick / console area and light it up. Does the TSX do this as well? I don’t see the 2 holes in the close up 360' Picts on Acura.com and I haven’t heard anyone talk about that before.

Yes there is a blue light that shines down on the shifter in the TSX as well.

Not just the blue, I think the feeling of the whole interior lighting was really cool at night. As you said, 1000x sweater than non LCD lighting cars.

Those are the little things that make a car awesome! What are some of the other cool things about the car that aren’t in the dealer brochure?

Heheh. I think the correct word to use is sweeter. A sweater is something you wear when it's cold. Then again... maybe you meant sweatier. Those LCD bulbs sure can get hot!

The older Accords had some bluish-green lighting. My '88 LX had it, I miss it

Definitely! I believe there are 6 positions of different brightness for daytime and another 6 for night.

There is a knot for you to turn. The display on the center panel will tell you which position you are on.

I think the adjustment the original poster wanted was for the blue light up top...the owners manual said that you can turn the select/reset button (the one to the leftfor the trip A and trip B) and it should dim/brighten the blue light. I've tried to do that with no such luck.

The six settings you are talking about are for the gauges, that adjuster is the right and that seems to ONLY adjust the gauges.

Uh the right "knob" otherwise known as the dash light adjustor also adjusts the blue light - at least in mine it does.

I have noticed that as well - about the owners manual mistatement. I think the blue light is adjusted in concert with the gauges with the rightmost adjuster, but I'd like to increase its brightness distinctly from the gauges (as the manual implies)

Me too, I have my gauges set on the brightest setting during the day, but at night I have them set down a bit because they end up being too bright.

Uh I wasn't saying you were wrong about your "dash light adjuster" otherwise known as the right knob, I was clearly quoting what the Owners Manual had said about adjusting the brightness of the blue light.

It's strange that the interiror colors of the instrument panel on the Euro Accord are no where like the TSX (heck the whole instrument panel is totally different). I wonder if Honda did some research and found that Europeans like orange and folks in NA like blue?

Actually they are blue on the 2.4 Executive with navi sold in Europe. In all the pictures from the UK brochure the center screen without navi is amber, but I can't tell about the gages on those models.

The brochure says the gages are white, except for the 2.0 sport and 2.4 Type S which are red.

All the close-up picture shows blue gauges, similar layout to the American Accord.

yeah the TSX has a blue light strip that illuminates the console door below the radio--the TL does not. However, it has those tight blue ringed radio knobs

This what the dash of the Type S 2.4 Euro Accord looks like (on the Autobahn in cruise mode).

I would call it orange not red. The dealer doesn't have an executive model on the lot. I didn't notice any ambiance light at all.

The rest of the dash looks like an exact replica of the US Accord.

Probably!

I'd not underestimate the skills of the Honda market research department!

And we can guess which German company HQ'd in Munich Honda is targeting! Small rant here, I don't like BMW's instrument lighting at all! What might have worked on a nightime incendiary raid over the London docks in 1943 doesn't necessarily work on a dark US Interstate highway. At least for me.

Years ago I read in Saab's sales brochure - back before GM bought the car division and the same company built the cars and the airplanes - that they studied instrument lighting colors and found that in aircraft green works best. So the Saab's were green. Volvo is greenish, wife's Honda seems greenish and Porsche seems yellow-greenish, too.

I had guessed that with the blue Honda was trying to more closely match the spectrum of the HIDs.

That knob does not adjust the ambient lighting on mine either. The manual says it does, but it is wrong

TSX has one that shines down from above, and another one on the center console between the climate controls and storage bins.
