Blitzsafe Update!!!

Ok I finally got my new 30gig IPod and hooked up the blitzsafe adapter to my 04 with Navi.

The installation took me 3mins!!!!!!!! Poping out the storage bin was a peice of cake and then its a simple UNPLUG the wire under the radio and PLUG in the blitzsafe, then plug the factory wire back in the blitzsafe. Then simply run the iPod wire under the side panel and its done.

The iPod plays directly through the dock connector giving GREAT CD sound and not once has it failed to connect when I hit the AUX button. My friends have the FM mod in some of their cars (non tsx) and the sound is not good at all.

I would recommend 100% getting this adapter instead of the over priced Acura ipod integration.

only neg is that this blitzsafe took me a month to get because they were on backorder from enfigcarstereo. But i eventually got it and everything is great!

yes the HON/M-Link1 V.2

no it does not control through the stereo....(obviously the volume controls work)....i know its hard...but you have to actaully pick up that horribly heavy Ipod and use it...lol

sorry for the sarcasim but seriously...people want the TSX to cook dinner for them it seems. we are lucky that we can do this install in our car and get this kind of sound quality out of it.

just my $.02

plus the functions that the new system from acura gives you are not everything that you would need anyways.....

i've seen the acura system and I wouldnt buy it at all......blitzsafe is the way to go...simple...cheap, and effective...(just like we like our women.....JK)

It was just a question. Wanted to know the pros and cons vs. other solutions sold for the car.

P.S. My car does make breakfast for me, but only scrabbled eggs, haven't figured out the poached or fried yet

What about the XM?

In the past it was always - plug in the ipod but you lose the xm.
Does the new adapter handle both ipod and xm at the same time?

I saw this at the Apple Store on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the version for the Video iPod uses the dock connector, so I couldn't use this with the Monster aux out/charger adapter.

Now we just need a dock connector Y-adapter & I'm all set!

It really is that simple. This is coming from someone who was very reluctant to go inside the dash to do an install.

I have an '05 with Nav (and XM). Most of the time, it will not switch to the CD-C choice using the Aux button. I have disconnected the XM antenna (wasn't going to subscribe anyway) and it plays through either XM1 or XM2 with the same great sound quality. They are supposedly coming out with an XM friendly unit, perhaps this month (currently being tested). They said to check back in mid-January. Once it is ready, they are going to swap mine for the new version.

It will work with any of the ipods with dock connectors. The plus is that you are getting a direct feed into the stereo with charging as opposed to using FM modulation which sounds like crap.

I dont have XM in my 04 so that was never an issue for me...I just have the Navi system and I have not had any problems with the blitzsafe switching over...it has worked every time.

Logjamelectronics and enfigcarstereo are the places that have the newest blitzsafe....call them first to be sure that they have it in stock because its a hot item right now

The only bad thing about this interface is that you can only use an IPOD with it. That leaves out sat radio and the like.

I ordered the same ipod interface from enfigcarstereo. It took a while before I received the item because it was backordered at the time. Anyhow, the blitzsafe I got have this bug that is annoying. There are times, when the cd-c option does not work and needs to be re-setted by turning off the stereo.

It seems simple enough but would you mind posting a picture of how it looks with your ipod hooked-up? Also set-up pictures would be great for those of us who like to learn visually. Thanks for the links and information!!!!

well my ipod just sits on my lap or the seat next to me or in the big storage bin...because I like to have it handy and I dont really want to mount it anywhere in my car.....and i ran the wire under the drivers side panel by my feet along the carpet... digital camera is broke or I would give you pics

like the one thread said....just put your hands in the storage bin on the left and right side....put force on the sides and then pull straight out. It will unclip without any harm and just pop right out. After that just look in the hole and you will see a harness that is plugged in vertically. Unplug it and plug in the blitzsafe then replugin the acura plug into the blitzsafe. After that i just let the blitzsafe sit harmlessly in the compartment and snaked the wire down and to the left so i could feed it out to to the drivers side floor. Then I pushed back in the storage bin and everything was ready to go.

I hope that helps...thats really as detailed as I can get....1-10 I would say its a 1.5 in how hard it is...10 being HARD and 1 being so easy a monkey could do it. ( I dont think any of you are monkeys so thats why i said 1.5)

I just pulled out my compartment, easy as 1-2-3.

I just wanted to be sure... Is this the plug you have to disconnect to instert the adapter? I could not really see, it's dark in my garage. I just snapped a quick pic with the flash.

I have this exact same problem. I installed mine a few weeks ago. Worked fine for a week, then eventually I had to reset like you said, now it dosent work no matter what I do. If I disconnect Navi from the blitzsafe, it works perfect. As soon as I plug it back in, no dice...

Im guessing its defective, I've got a message on the logjam forms about it. I think im just going to put in the RMA for it since it sounds like others like you are having this problem, and others arent...

Hope it does too. Someone else posted on the logjam forum they didnt have any problems with it either. And from what I gather, QC on these blitzsafes is less then stellar, seems a lot of them get returned. Logjam seems to have a decent no hassle replacement (they send the new unit out with a prepaid label for the defective one). So, we'll see...

Just installed mine tonight, picked it up from enfig... so far so good. Hopefully it stays that way. It really is awesome. Definately better than the fm receiver contraption I had. Although that really wasn't terrible (one from iriver) This is so much easier though and the fact that it also charges is a bonus.

Mine is a non navi so I just plugged it right in, hopefully that will translate into zero problems...
