Blitzsafe Help!
Blitzsafe Help!
I've been installing a Blitzsafe unit for my iPod. Everything starts out ok, but after awhile, the Aux button no longer recognizes the unit. I'm on my 3rd unit from Blitzsafe. I've tried with and without a Y-harness. To make a long story short, I think the unit needs to not have any signal coming in from the XM radio or else it seems to get confused. When I just plug the Blitzsafe into the HU without plugging the other end in, it works fine, but then I have no access to the touchscreen on the NAV. Therefore, I think I need to cut some of the 14 wires as part of the harness. I am using 1 side of a Y-harness to act as an extension so I cut those wires instead of those of the car's or Blitzsafe's harness. I have so far cut wires 4, 5, 6, 13 & 14 thus far (see https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...1&page=1&pp=25 for diagram). The unit still thinks XM exists, although obviously no sounds goes through. I have even unplugged the XM antenna in the trunk, but the problem is still there. I have tried unplugging the harness from the XM unit in the trunk as well, but again, I lose the NAV screen controls.
I have 9 wires left to choose from. Does anyone know what the other 9 wires in the harness do and therefore would know which wire(s) to cut to totally disable XM without screwing anything else up in the car?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you are willing to give you XM, the Blitzsafe aux input adapter should work with no problems.
I had some similar symptoms as you described. After messing around with it a bit, I got it all working. I didn't have to remove any wires from the harness or alter the harnesses in any way. Everything plugged together and worked. Here's some info that may help:
