Best time of the year to buy an Acura?

Is there such a thing as the best time of the year to get the best deal for an Acura? I am not familiar with the pricing policy of Acura, so my questions are:

1. Does Acura ever take much off of the MRSP on any vehicle that has not just gone through a major model change? The best I can get off of the TSX now is $1000 off MRSP.

2. Does Acura ever offer any incentive, rebate or low APR, and if so, does that usually happen at a certain time of the year?

I am not in any hurry to get a new car, so I can wait if they usually offer better deals in the first quarter of the year, just to get rid of their stock before the tax year is over...

Thanks!

since this is a new model, Acura will take little off the MSRP. if you're going to pay close to sticker price, ask for the little things. door ding service, free oil change, floor mats...etc.
i think Acura will get rid of the 04's around march of next year. that might be a better time to go look.

Typically the best time of year to buy cars is from August to October as thats when dealers are clearing out old models and making space on the lots for the 04's for example. another good time of year is apparently around Christmas and in January as people usually don't buy cars after spending all their money on Christmas gifts, they have to pay off their credit card debts.

Another good idea would be to go buy the car at the end of the month. If a dealer/saleman has'nt made their monthly quota, they may be willing to deal at the end of the month.

But all those factors may not work for the TSX. Dealers are'nt clearing lots for 04's because its already an 04 and its still a hot car. If you were in Canada, it would be a different story. There are plenty of TSX's to be had.

Hmm, good question but I doubt it. They don't stock as many accesories as they would cars I would think and they probly don't have a sales target they have to hit with accessories either. But I would think you could get a percentage off any accesories from the dealer you bought from, especially something as expensive as a body kit.

But I have no idea. maybe one of the members who works in a dealer could comment?

Hey Domn, I am so surprised that the TSX is not selling well in Canada. I wonder why that is? Are the Canadian Acura dealers offering lots of deals then? What would be the realistic price of a TSX with navi up in Canada?

One reason might be that Acura Canada's per captia allocation is nearly 3x the US figure. 4000 cdn units vs. 15000 us, but we only have 1/10 the population. So there's more to go around. I got mine for over $2k off. TSX Nav is not available here.

Best time of the year to buy an Acura?

Conventional wisdom points to the "ENDS"... of the day, week, month, or year.

I purchased my '99 CL on the last day of 1998 and got a good deal from my local Acura dealer as the car I wanted was in stock. I had to go to the next county to find my TSX, and paid list because of thier scarcity.

The only people that I have heard getting much off MSRP on the TSX are those that have settled for a less popular color and non-navi, or a dealer's test drive car. Now that it is one of Car and Driver's top 10 cars, I doubt there will be any sudden change in pricing.

Yeah duug, standard practice around here is a $500 mark-up for a "Protection Package" (wheel locks, mud guards, & trunk mat), so it will be interesting to see what they come up with now that the TSX is on the C & D Top 10.

The best time really depends on the model and when the model year begins/ends, so this question may never be answered to your satisfaction.
