That's actually a Dylan tune, but the SMB rendition is pretty good. I think the Travelling Wilburys version is my favorite.

Some of my favorite road tunes:

Radar Love - Golden Earring
Peace of Mind - Boston
Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves
Riding with the King - B.B. King & Eric Clapton
Africa - Toto
Mercury Blues - (Canned Heat version)
Gonna Send You Back to Georgia - Hound Dog Taylor
In the Air Tonight - Phil Collins

Plus anything by John Lee Hooker.

The very best song

Definitely "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. Try blasting that while cruisin at 90 mph at 3:00 am down the empty highway. It makes you feel like someone....better, more cool, a little bit "pimper" and important.

When I do drive it...
PvD, Ferry Corsten, ATB, Ministry of Sound mixes (i.e. The Annuals, Trance Nations)
Lost Prophets, Linkin Park
Any good rap. All sounds great, but the Bass isn't good enough for rap/hip-hop. Great system for rock or dance music imo.

Grand Puba - "I Like It"

It bumps. Trust me.

Edit: Oh wait.... "Current" song? I'll say MF Doom - "One Beer"

Shouldn't this be in Ramblin's?

For some reason, I love jamming Steve McQueen by Sheryl Crow.

Junkster, who likes metal for short trips and country for road trips

Achy breaky heart.....

...but seriously, I'd say depends on the mood:

Chill = Radiohead - Hail to the Thief (whole album)
Nice, sunny day = Damien "Jr. Gong" Marley (any song)
Going out clubbin' = a good House mix (Om Records, especially)
Going out moshing = Deftones - My Own Summer (Shove It)

I agree Grand Puba 'I like it' is bumpin.. as for MF Doom - "Doomsday"
and for just straight chillin' Souls of Mischief - '93 til Inifinity.

Wow. I think you're the first person ever to recognize the music I listen to (and we've had several "what's in your changer?" threads). Cool.

'93 to Infinity is classic....

Glad to see Techno, Rock, and Hip Hop represented...

I couldn't agree more with your techno choices: PVD, Oakenfold, Sasha, etc.

Here are some other techno artists / DJs I like to play in my CG TSX:
Mark Farina
Derrick Carter
Sandra Collins
Tiesto
Darude
Dieselboy
Roni Size & Reprazent
AK1200
Aphrodite

If I'm just cruising with my friends, especially around campus, especially before hitting the scene in LA on a Friday night I'll pump "Get Low" or whatever's the new hard-hitting mainstream tune to get everyone crunked. I've been really loving Elephunk for that whole vibe too, the whole album is just golden for a party, or to put you in the mood.
If I'm on the road for a long drive and I'm not about to fall asleep I might play some of my favorite classics like The Cure, The Doors or The Smiths.
If I ever see a ricer on the freeway trying to prove something, I'll usually give chase with some speedmetal/hard rock blasting - which I admit is hyppocrital as hell cuz it makes you feel a bit too fast and too furious (it's a guilty pleasure).
Otherwise if I'm just riding about my business I'll have anything from latin hip-hop like the Orishas to the Orb to Cake, depending on my mood.
When I had my old Corolla I'd listen to a lot of old school punk and hardcore, but I think it'd be a bit too much to be blasting something anti-capitalism when you're driving a 30K luxury car.
