Arrow Beeps not honks

I know there are mixed feelings about Horn verse’s beep noise when you press the lock button on the remote two times on the 2006 TSX. I am a little hard of hearing and personally prefer the horn. The owner’s manual indicates that it is a horn that sounds. Contacting Honda Customers Service (Technical) department the gal clamed the manual is in error and it is a beep that sounds.

My question is. Where is this electronic beeper located so that I can change it out to something louder or wire it back to the horn relay and where is the horn relay located.

Why do you even need to hear the honk/beep? The alarm is still activated after only one press.

In any slightly busy area, it can be pretty hard to hear the beep. And in bright sunlight it's hard to see the parking lights blink. Subaru Legacy has it done right, IMO. Two presses and it beeps. Third press and it honks. And unlike the TSX, the mirrors blink along with the parking lights, too.

Red face Needed or not?

Well Guy’s, to answer your question which was not the answer to my original question. Most of the time I am locking the car as a after though and doing so while walking away from the car normally with other items in my hand. I am never really sure I press the right button and to stop and check is a pain. More than likely the reason the designer added the feature in the first place. Secondly if I have a future I paid for I would like to use it and I can’t hear that soft beep. So back to my question:

My question is. Where is this electronic beeper located so that I can change it out to something louder or wire it back to the horn relay and where is the horn relay located.

So what happens after a fourth press? Does the car drive over to you and douse you with washer fluid?

You got somethin' stuck in your ear? The beep's not that hard to hear.

As for the electronic beeper, try buying a helms, and pinpointing exactly where it is. Not sure, nobody's really asked this question. So you've got me.

I prefer no beep or honk. Just the sound of the locks going down after one press is fine with me. I actually think it's kinda annoying when cars beep upon locking.

If you can't switch the beep to a honk, try training yourself to lock it before you start walking away, rather than as an afterthought like you said.

Thanks for the honest answer.

1. Worked to many years around loud noises.
2. Parts store and tell me manuals are not out yet.
3. My 04 manual shows it hook to the horn change must have occurred in 06 models
4. Hopefully using a specialty board like this one someone will know the answer to my original question.

Thanks again for the honest reply.

The change from horn to beep was made in 05, not 06.

06' model can change beep to horn if I'm not mistaken, it’s in the manual

Counterpoint:

You're inside, the car's outside (in garage, parked out front on curb, etc.).

How do you know if it locks? (e.g. was in range?)

I lock it before I walk even 5 feet away, so it's a moot point for me. And you can also see the lights flash.

hmm

you dont want a honk! Thats a bit overbearing if you ask me. Sometimes I park my car late at night infront of my house or a friend's house, and everyone is real quiet but then my friend with his tahoe..HONKKKKKKKKK.. you get the point

I believe that's correct. I seem to recall that the default was for it to honk. I didn't like that, so I changed it to a beep. I don't recall the exact procedure that I used, but I'm sure that it's either in the manual or in the car's car set-up guide.

I think that there might have been some setting that you can set thru the MID....but don't quote me on that. Check the manual and car set-up guide.

On my 06 the default is a beep. I wouldn't change it even if I could, I think the honking is too much.

I'm looking into doing this as well- i checked the owner's manual and you can turn off the beep in the MFD setup. I flipped throught the service manual to find where the "beeper" is, but couldn't find it on any schematic. Tomorrow i may pop the hood and keep locking it until i find the location. If anyone has the ETM anc can find it in there, i'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

BTW ain't the alarm horns or whatever right behind the front bumper? They are two black things shaped kind of weird. I think those are the horns and thats why they are two.

Hey, funny that I've never noticed this until now, but I just realized that the car does not "beep-beep" when unlocking the doors. That's kind of
