Beeping when opening the door

Beeping when opening the door
I just picked up on something and was wondering if anyone else noticed this. Sometimes when I got into the car there was a beeping sound that went away almost right away. I finally figured it out this morning.
If you unlock with the fob there is a slight delay while the lights flash indicating the "unlock". If you manage to be quick and open the door during that time the car will beep as if your headlights/driving lights are on with the door open. You would think that with all of the electronic gadgetry in the cars these days the car would know that the lights are not actually on.
