To the beach! We don' need no stinking suvs!

I just got back from Port Aransas (I live in Austin) in the TSX. We have two kids and were still able to pack for 3 days/ 2 nights in the TSX. We went a month ago and brought our V70, but this time we thought we could get it all in the lil' one, and we were right. The only stuff we had in the cabin were pillows, blankets (for kid naps in the car) and food/beverages for the drive. Everything else was in the trunk.

That trunk is bigger than it looks

My two brother's-in-law had to stuff their minivan and Suburban and bring all kinds of junk that didn't get used.

We, on the other hand, got 28.5 mpg going down there at 85 mph the whole way

One trick that may help others, is that we used four of those small fabric coolers, instead of one big Igloo type. It's much easier to play Tetris with the trunk when you have smaller pieces. The Pack-N-Play was still a challenge though.
