AV electronic coversion?! Whats the diffrence?!?!?

Hello my TSX brothers! I took apart my 04 acura TL this week. apparently our nav computer is in my trunk and it actually sends the video feed to the 8" monitor in the front! Now my question for yall is any idea on how to tap into that video feed?I know Alpine makes the nav unit for acura so theres got to be a way. I have access to wholesale Audio/Video supplies so any cables/wires are all accessible. I also have selected a Boss A/V switcher which i want to integrate into the car for my PC and XBOX. I hope no custom soldering will have to be done though it might. I know AVelectronics.com makes a plug and play unit for the TL Im just trying to avoid shelling out $525 for something that cost them $20. How does their plug and play system work? is it possible to get the boss system to work w. it w/o any too extreme work? There has to be some way to do this. Someone please give me some ideas. Anyways the boss switcher is exactly one of those $100 switchers youwere talking about. I got it for $40 through the wholesale store.

I just dont get how Av electronics makes theirs plug and play? whats the diff. Please help all you AV moguls. Thanks!

I can get either this:

the problem is now just coverting to tap into the video feed. Thanks!

As other threads explain, the video feed from the navi box to the LCD panel is not "component" yellow-RCA video. It is RGB video, 5 wires total if you count the sync signal, and most video switching units don't work with this kind of signal.

What you need is a box with RGB in, RGB out, and one or more composite "yellow-RCA" video inputs. Most products use ONLY yellow-RCA in and out.

The only way anyone can make this system plug and play is to use a "T"-harness that plugs in between the harness and the Navi box, or between the LCD and the car harness. If I were making one, I would make it go between the green plug at the Navi and the green plug IN the Navi.

I have an email into AV Electronic asking about buying the TSX harness directly. We'll see...

AV Electronic refuses to sell the harness seperately. Hmm...
